Jason in Indianapolis: A Friday the 13th Tribute

I don't think I need to go too much into the synopsis. It's a Friday the 13th franchise tribute film. I think that pretty much gives you your synopsis.

The filmmaker, Samuel Schmucker has put together a film that satisfies Jason fans and horror fans in general.

Part of the film is done in a "documentary" style on the notorious killer, Jason Voorhees. MANY cameos!

It's on the "milder" side with blood and gore, but it's there, so don't despair!

Acting, directing, cinematography, effects, music, plot/storyline are all pretty good. In fact, it's a little like watching an artist's painting in motion.

There are MANY nods throughout the film to the original series of films.

I look forward to many more enjoyable films like this one from this filmmaker!

I won't make this a "spoiler", but, make sure to watch the credits roll to see what Jason does when he doesn't know the camera is on him. LOL!

A Gracious Grasie Grase Viewer recommended I critique a Sci-fi or another genre ( I can't remember) but I hate romantic comedies and detest horror movies because they are so fake and predictable. However, Jason in Indianapolis is the first horror movie I have enjoyed in a long time! Yes, Jason in Indianapolis is your typical, predictable goofy horror film, let me say this movie was so comical that I wanted to see the end. The music in this movie was freaking Grade A, Grammy Award- hands down and the production was phenomenal due to the fact that it made up for the acting. Nevertheless, that is why I liked the movie because it has been a long time since I have seen cinematography to this level with such questionable acting, which made it better! There was no 100 million dollars movie sets and the actors were ordinary people running for their lives as Jason continues to wave his machete full of DNA all across Indianapolis. I was in amazement by the 3D effects while sitting in my movie chair at home. Some scenes made you think you were right there with Jason in the woods! Was the movie itself great? Nope. But it did not matter because the psycho killer was very determined to reach his destination in the mist of turmoil. There wasn't any makeup artist to dress up the cast and I kept asking myself if that made a difference in the film. It did not because with all the home grown actors I found it AUTHENTIC! 😁 Sometimes you do not need all the messy Bollywood fake ass fan fair to make a good movie. Again, I was so impressed by the music that I blasted the volume and looked at the credits to download the musicians. But mixing authenticity, a solid community, brilliant lighting, fake blood, a deranged serial killer and awesome sauce music in the same pot, you can't go wrong.

This movie was a labor of love and passion from start to finish and the dynamic music acting and production was the greatest thing for my first film. The cast and crew were superb and the music was some of the best set of singers, bands and musicians.

This was my first film I wrote the story for, and had 2 excellent experienced writers draft a script and my editing team was by far the best I've ever meet to date. Crushing the deadline by 2 hrs . Putting in a few sleepless nights and I could never be more grateful. The locations, the actors and actresses were so great and a pleasure to work with. And my team were fantastic.

I've just finished watching this fan film about Jason Voorhees by director and filmmaker Samuel Schmucker. This is a 1-hour and 18-minute tribute to the Friday the 13th Franchise. It's a simple story about Jason who has arrived in Indianapolis by mysterious means and for unclear reasons. His notoriety will only grow as he raises Hell in the Circle City. We see Jason (played by Schmucker himself) walking around aimlessly murdering anyone who crosses his path, as his mother's voice ruminates inside his head. His mission is clear, and there is hell to pay towards anyone who stands in his way. But, does he manage to fulfil his irritating and overbearing mother's commands? I can see so many details that bring the Friday the 13th films coming through in this fan fiction to pay homage to the murderous monster Jason. There are a plethora of colour changes, very experimental, altered filters, various gradients, and although sometimes it did become too much for my eyes to handle, it was impressive. Well done on the special effects. There seems to be a problem with the sound when the reporters or special guests come on. Not sure if this was intended or not. Many cameo appearances, some very familiar faces. This was a good move as it added authenticity into the storyline. Glad to see so many wonderful people behind this film, backing and supporting it. I can tell this was a work of passion. Although there are some small details that I tried to overlook-like no blood on the knife; it didn't take me out of the story too much. This is a gripping short horror film, and it had me hooked from start to end. The cinematography is above average, with many different angles and points of views. I enjoyed seeing the world through Jason's mask in a couple of the scenes. This changed it up. There is a good amount of tension in the action scenes. The music, rapping lyrics that are very chilling and accompanied the scenes well, it helped to change the pace, tonal changes and enhanced the scenes. This is a great example of how to do tributes. Jason would be proud as punch, such a great compliment to Him. I would definitely recommend this to all Friday the 13th fans, horror fans will enjoy this film for the horror scenes, there is copious amounts of blood and some gore. Also, I recommend this to anyone wanting to see something great in the horrorsphere with another amazing Indie filmmaker making a name for himself. Fabulous film with the 80s vibe coming through loud and clear. I look forward to more from this filmmaker in the future.
