I had heard this movie was really good, so I went to see it this past weekend. So glad I made it!
This film is full of tension, as the story unfolds, and you cannot help but feel for the main characters, even if they had no one to blame but themselves for getting into the predicament they are in.
I am a huge Kevin Sorbo fan, but I was surprised to see Cuba Gooding Jr. In this picture as well! Both actors are excellent playing their characters, as you would expect, and the young star James Barrington was quite good in his role as well. I haven't seen him before, but I'm sure he will pop up in future films. He is very talented.
But I think the actor who steals the spotlight from everyone is Tupua Ainuii, who plays the character of the prison warden Captain Tanu. I don't think you could have picked a better actor for that role. He looks similar in size to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and has similar acting chops.
A very powerful, convicting, faith-based movie, and the title is misleading. The film is really about forgiveness, hope, mercy, and ultimately redemption.

The lead actor is believable, the prison warden not so much except at the end. Great story. I found myself thinking about the movie for several days after. That speaks to the power of the message that Jesus truly transforms people's hearts, priorities, and behaviors, no matter that they've done bad things in life. I would have scored it higher but some of the acting seemed flat and the videography didn't wow, probably reflecting the tight budget for an initial film from a new studio. I'm looking forward to what Epoch Times will produce next and hoping that this first foray is successful and attracts many more investors with deep pockets for future projects.
I was fortunate enough to see this movie with friends twice. Both times my friends were moved and wanted to talk how the movie had moved them. It deepened their beliefs and wants to open up more to their Christian needs and beliefs. We have had many discussions at church, over coffee and dinner.
I think that this movie uses its story line to enhance nonbelievers into becoming believers. It also starts people on the course to search life and Christianity for guidance and peace. This film deters Satan's control on people and opens doors to a life with meaning, guidance, peace, purpose, and joy for ones life. Watch it often.

Firing Squad is more than just a film; it's a profound exploration of the human spirit and the transformative power of faith. This cinematic masterpiece weaves together a compelling narrative with visuals and unforgettable characters, creating a truly immersive experience.
What sets this film apart is its ability to resonate with audiences on a deeply personal level. The story, rooted in our sinful nature, delves into the complexities of finding hope in the face of death with both sensitivity and conviction. The characters are richly developed, their struggles and triumphs feeling authentic and relatable.
The performances are nothing short of extraordinary. The singing of Amazing Grace deliver powerhouse portrayals that leave a lasting impact. Their chemistry on screen is palpable, drawing the audience into the heart of the story.
The score is equally impressive, complementing the scenes perfectly and elevating the overall viewing experience.
But it is the film's exploration of faith that truly sets it apart. It doesn't preach or proselytize; instead, it invites viewers to contemplate their own beliefs and values. The portrayal of faith is both honest and inspiring, offering hope and encouragement without being overly sentimental.
The Firing Squad is a film that challenges, provokes, and ultimately inspires. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the possibility of redemption in the darkest of places. This is not merely a film; it's a spiritual experience that will leave a lasting impact on viewers.

Screening was packed. No one left,. Everyone stayed glued to the end credits. People weeping. My group from a local church loved the film. The people giving this film a '1' should be ashamed of themselves. I read that atheists are attacking this film so it might be them disguised as Christians because NO CHRISTIAN would attack this film after seeing it.
The guy attacking this film because of the woman's dress is missing the entire point of this: the film is winning thousands if not hundreds of thousands to Christ. Another guy attacking the attacking....what's wrong with these people? I understand atheists are attacking this film I droves. Please pray they come to Christ and stop what they're doing. They haven't even watched the film I think.
