Without ever having heard bout this 2024 crime thriller "Final Heist" from director Ted Campbell, I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it here in 2025. And with it being a movie that I had never heard about, nor actually seen, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance.
Writers Ted Campbell and Richard Pierce just didn't manage to conjure up an outstanding or noteworthy script for the movie. The storyline was pretty linear and there wasn't really any moments that kept the audience at the edge of their seats. It was a somewhat monotonous and flaccid storyline. I certainly was missing thrills and being taken on a thrill ride by the writers. It was not that it was a bad storyline, but it was just mundane.
Out of the entire cast ensemble, I was actually only familiar with Tim Abell and Diane Delano. It should be noted, though, that the acting performances in "Final Heist" were good.
The movie was seriously lacking tense moments and action, and it was ultimately a bland viewing experience, where director Ted Campbell was struggling to keep the audience's attention for 83 minutes.
A watchable movie, but there are far more interesting and entertaining crime thrillers out there of the same ilk. But maybe diehard crime thriller fans will find way more enjoyment in "Final Heist" than I did as a mere casual viewer.
My rating of director Ted Campbell's 2024 movie "Final Heist" lands on a four out of ten stars.
