At first glance, Breakfast with Giraffes feels like a film with no direction. There's no traditional story, no hero, no antagonist, no dramatic conflict to resolve. It should be boring. But it's not!
Instead, it quietly slips under your skin. Its surreal atmosphere, restrained yet mesmerizing, pulls you in without asking for permission. I often get restless with films that lack narrative momentum, but this one? I watched it in a single take. No breaks. Just breath held.
The film isn't about plot-it's about presence. About being alive. About death. About that strange, empty space in between where you wonder what any of it means. Every shot feels deliberate, like a philosophical painting you're meant to sit with - or a quiet philosophical scream you're not meant to escape.
There's something in this film that reaches out from the screen and quietly disturbs your soul. The film is loaded with subtle messages about simply existing.
The cast inhabits their roles with disarming honesty, and Soroush Sehat directs with such clarity of emotion that the absence of a conventional structure becomes its greatest strength.
Don't watch this expecting comedy. Watch it if you're ready to feel hollow and full at once. You might not smile-but you might cry. And you definitely won't forget it.

I didn't intend to write a review about this movie at first but when I encountered a very big opposite views as pros and againsts I decided to clarify some points.
If you desire to watch a gentle comedy with smart witticism and great smell of wisdom this is The movie for you, but if your definition of comedy is ridiculous pranks with cheap sexual clowneries and childish stupid behaviors this movie is not recommended.
The movie is so well made, the main reason of which is great director, Sorush Sehhat, and good actors besides a good plot.
It is a little bit in the same line with the movie "hang over" in which funny matters happen to groom on the night of wedding.
Coincidentally this movie is on screen with another so-called comedy which in comparison you find the difference between a gentle comedy and cheap clownery.

I've enjoyed Soroush Sehhat's previous works, but Breakfast with Giraffes was by far the worst. It lacked a coherent storyline, and while the director claimed the movie was about forgiveness, the execution completely missed the mark-if anything, it conveyed the opposite message.
Marketed as a comedy, it was actually a dark drama, and even the occasional comedic moments were predictable, outdated, and at times nonsensical. The title itself felt entirely irrelevant to the film.
To top it off, despite paying for a VIP ticket, Soroush and his team (including Bahram Radan) didn't even stay after the screening for a photo with the audience. Overall, a disappointing experience in every way.

"Breakfast with Giraffes" is an absolute gem of a film, weaving a storyline that is as special as it is pleasant. The movie eschews loud drama for a quieter, more profound narrative that explores connection and finding beauty in the most unexpected of places. The central premise is wonderfully unique and executed with a gentle, heartwarming touch that leaves you with a lasting sense of joy and contentment. It's a truly delightful cinematic experience that feels like a warm hug, carried by a plot that is both simple in its charm and deep in its emotional resonance.
This is the kind of film that truly benefits from a second viewing. The first watch sweeps you away with its charming story and beautiful visuals, but watching it again allows you to appreciate the subtle nuances in the performances and the deeper layers of its uplifting message. There are so many small, beautiful moments and quiet details you might miss the first time around. "Breakfast with Giraffes" is a rare treat that not only entertains but also enriches the spirit, making it a definite must-see, and then a must-see-again.

Not often do people like such movies,However, the movie is an insane fantasy for the fans! Sehat,as the writer and the director, has made a new vibe with his favorite philosophical topics, which are common in most of his works(at least, since Lisanseh ha),such as Friendship,Life and death. The lack of story, isnt the weakness of the film, but a powerful point, wich splits Sehat from the others. Compared to his previous shows and movies, the music isnt the starring anymore, but still used geniusly,in the interludes, its rare, and in the Iranian movies it was considerd impossible, but Sehat took courage and, like everything he used for the first time, he named it after himself, these interludes let him make the scenes as surreal as he wanted. Characters are too careless, imagine your friend is died, and you are still looking for a little more drug !The director's favorite exploration of concepts occurs in dialogues and situations. In addition to the logical cause-and-effect relationship that also determines the ending, the film, like real life, surprises you at every moment!.putting Revelers and carefree people against the life and death, creates an unforgettable experience. And the ending is cinematicly perfect, and visually stunning...But it still leaves questions unanswered..to conclude,as I told before,an insane fantasy,am unforgetable surreal experience,With a clever balance between tragedy and comedy. Its for the people who just want to laugh, and the people who dont want to just laugh. And to quote the character of the doctor played by Hadi Hejazifar, the film will give you a dark night!
