A Carol for Two

A small town girl moves to New York to try out for a Broadway show that gets canceled before she even gets there. Her small town made such a big deal when she left that she can't go back. So, she seeks out a restaurant run by a friend of her aunt where the waitstaff sing. There she meets another waiter who plays Cyrano De Bergerac for his cousin who falls in love with her.

There is lots of musical quality singing...and a big plug for the male lead's current Broadway musical. I have to preface my review with the fact that I am not a big fan of musicals, at least not contemporary ones. They always feel over exaggerated and so far from reality that I can't even get into the story. This did have a sort of cohesive story...but the musical numbers, including the original song, really took me out of the story. So my final say is this did nothing for me...not even get me into the Christmas spirit.
