Blank Slate

It's basically an unfunny ripoff of March Game. Mario Lopez is no Gene Rayburn. He comes across as inauthentic, which makes sense considering his acting ability. No one on the show has the charisma that cast had. In a word, the show is boring. The questions are too on the nose and don't often elicit fun answers. It's too predictable. The banter isn't witty or funny. It's yet another in a long list of bad game shows aired by a network that can't seem to create anything original or at least entertaining. If they tweaked the concept and got a better host, maybe there could be something here. This is far from the show's biggest problem, but like all of these game shows on GSN, it looks like it has the budget of a 5th grade Christmas pageant. The set is very cramped and generic. The color scheme is also off putting.
