This film by no means deserves the hate it has been getting. Sure it has some roughness around the edges, but the narrative and world building more than made up for it.

Every aspect of this movie, from the character relationships to the surprisingly-intricate and fleshed-out world building was incredibly well thought out. The writer clearly put so much time and dedication toward this universe, and and I admire that immensely.

The plot felt like a hybrid of Shakespeare and George R. R. Martin, and it kept me thoroughly absorbed despite some occasionally weaker dialogue and visuals.

For a lower-budget independent film, its clear that the everyone involved, from the writer/director to the ensemble cast, cared so much about bringing this story to life and gave it their all. I'd love to see more from this world and these characters in the future.

I'm picky about two things: fantasy stories and indie films.

Luckily, this is both a really interesting fantasy AND a really strong indie film!

I don't know a lot about the filmmaker's previous work, but he's clearly got a keen eye. The cinematography is gorgeous, the acting is solid, the story has a complexity that only comes from thorough planning, and the technicals are nearly perfect! Some audio issues? One or two, but nothing especially glaring.

I want more! I want to keep exploring this world! The story feels half-told in the best way; like the first book in a series. Seriously, great work!
