Parkour Civilization

When I went into this movie, I expected it to be a meme. However, I found great character development within each character. The flashbacks were put together well enough to feel like they mattered. Evbo as a protagonist is rather likeable as well, and doesn't feel the need to be humble. He is human, and acts like a human. Not everybody has to be this perfect can do no wrong protagonist, and Evbo's writing shows how he can write good characters. The animation is incredible, and there were a lot of scenes that felt very well put together. Also this MIGHT be a spoiler, but there is a metaphor for the government system of the USA. Systematic issues play a huge part in this movie/tv show (depends how you watch it) and it's reflected perfectly. I could rate this movie a 100 stars out of 10 if I wanted to. This should of been the real Minecraft movie.

Didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't this lol. VERY much a hidden gem (though not so hidden now :3) Concept is actually interesting and had me hooked. So many unexpected places where it gets utilized! Simultaneously takes does and doesn't take itself seriously. LOTS of silly and serious moments. Also the whole thing felt so authentic and 'minecraft'. The type of thing a group of friends would come up with but never get to writing (if that makes sense). I'm sure someone far smarter than me could find grievances, like maybe the voices and pacing is a bit off sometimes, but I find it easy to look past. Just. WATCH ITTTT its fun :3.

I first saw the trailers and spoofs of this concept on TikTok. I must admit, I had low expectations. Oh, was I a fool. This, right here. This is cinema. I've only seen season 1, sure, but the concept of a rags to riches plot has never been handled any better. Any sentence Evbo speaks is a brand new one spoken, and yet with so much debt. The world-building and the non-Euclidean environment leave your mouth wide open, begging for more. I wouldn't want to go into spoiler territory but the high risk high reward of the raw chicken vs raw beef at the beginning of the story encapsulates the poverty experience in the United States perfectly. I could go on and on about this masterpiece.

I expected some stupid meme movie, but was pleasantly surprised with this fun twist of the dystopian genre. The use of parkour as a metaphor for currency in modern capitalism is shockingly well done and goes to show how little meaning money has. How the rich and wealthy are so determined to keep the status quo, and how easy it is to slip into poverty are also themes displayed. Looking at the minecraft movie script I feel kinnda sad, HOW THE !@@# DID A MILLTIMILLON DOLLAR BUISNESS FAIL TO MAKE A BETTER MOVIE THEN A RANDOM YOUTOBER WHO PROBABLY MADE THIS AS A PAISON PROJECT WITH A LIMITED BUDGET...props to evbo i guess GOOD !#%^&*! JOB.

Parkour Civilization really gives us a perspective on worldbuilding in fiction. Considering that they really highlight social stratification as the source that made a problem with interaction and accessibility of some people.

I also really appreciate that they made a language, transaction systems, and conflicts (fights) to be in a form of parkour. I'm genuinely impressed how the creators think about the 'Civilization' to really be a civilization. Parkour Civilization might be a great start for anyone who wants to get into the dystopia or utopia genre. With its simplicity, introducing a dystopian world with the nostalgic instrument of Minecraft series.

Also how the buildings are all well... containing parkour courses in it. It is such a goofy theme, but with the perfect writers and executions, it just might be a masterpiece.

It is kinda surprising that a Minecraft movie can achieve something like this. To be honest, I look for something this in the future.
