Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

As one of the many longtime fans of Call of Duty who was disappointed by MW3 from the previous year, this was a refreshing change of pace.

You play as CIA Agent William "Case" Calderon in 1991, a member of a black ops team comprising of past characters reprising their roles, like Frank Woods (Damon Victor Allen). Newcomers include Troy Marshall (Y'lan Noel) the green commander of the team, assassin Sevati Dumas (Karen David) & tech expert Felix Neuman (Seamus Dever). They're all assigned to conduct covert operations against a paramilitary group named Pantheon, which plans to take control of the CIA.

The main campaign stretches across levels like a swanky hotel in the fictional city-state of Avalon, the deserts of Syria and Iraq, a black site in Washington DC, and a final showdown in Russia. The missions allow you to choose either fast paced and tense action or stealth and surprise. Besides your common weapons, you'll also use spy gadgets, like the new homing throwing knife and classic remote controlled exploding RC cars. There are cash deposits you can collect and use to purchase upgrades for your equipment. But the biggest highlight is the new "Omnimovement" system, a dynamic new addition to combat that allows you to sprint, slide, and leap in any direction to give you an edge over your enemies.

Multiplayer mode was a blast and is some of the best I've played in COD in years. There are already 16 maps (12 core 6v6 maps, and 4 strike maps). Scud is my favorite so far. It's great for beginners looking to get a feel of the game and well suited for almost any combat style, especially snipers thanks its long lanes and large number of windows. Smaller maps, like Warhead and Payback, are good for practicing with the Omnimovement system. It's still early in games run, so stay tuned for new maps that may strengthen your playing experience, depending on your combat style.

The leveling system rewards you for good performance and allows you to upgrade your weapons and equipment to increase your performance in battle. Level grinding is fairly quick and easy, plus any upgrades you seek make them worth the effort. I consider the XM4 the best weapon to start with and perhaps the best gun overall once it's fully levelled up. Otherwise, I suggest the Model L or the KSV that you can unlock at level 7. Of course, there will be some flaws, like lagging, but it didn't happen to the point where it ruined the entire experience for me. Hopefully these issues will be fixed in future updates.

Zombie mode returns and is as gruesomely frightening as ever. Slaughtering hordes of the undead may feel stale and unoriginal since it's been around since "World At War", but as a zombie fan, I still love it.

In the end, this is a great game with plenty to keep you busy for a while, and it's a breath of fresh air after MW3's failure and a must play for fans of the series.

As much as I scoff when the annual COD rolls around I will admit I have a soft spot for the Black Ops entries. Most of them outside of maybe the 3rd and 4th entries are pretty good. The first will always be my favorite followed by the 2nd and I think dare I say the 6th entry here might be in my top 3 Black Ops campaigns to date. It gets the A for effort at the very least for trying to mix things up and not just have a completely guns blazing experience. Some missions felt like they were extracted and ripped straight from a F. E. A. R. video game, mixing in elements of suspense and even horror tropes which I thoroughly appreciated. There were even some lite puzzle solving in some of the more slower paced suspenseful levels while other levels when slowing things down felt like you were playing a Mission Impossible or Ocean's 11 style heist mission. And the final set of missions kept teetering back and forth between the high octane action and mysterious segments which I thought were pretty cool. Overall if you are curious about the COD campaign in between the online fray I'd say this is definitely worth a peek and since it's only the usual 6-8 hours to complete it can be blown through in a single weekend. I really love this game-it's a lot of fun. All the modes are great, upgrading weapons is awesome, and the new maps and game modes are well done (some maps are just okay, but most are excellent). The story and lore are also really cool and interesting. It is a bit pricey on Steam, but you can get it on Xbox GamePass for twenty dollars.

Now for the main issue: the HQ feature that comes with all the recent Call of Duty games and Warzone. It takes up a lot of storage space, and honestly, it's just a bad idea. If I buy Black Ops 6, I want just Black Ops 6-not Black Ops 6 plus a bunch of other Call of Duty games! There's probably a way to remove it, but it's annoying, and it's disappointing they included that.

Overall, it's a great game-super fun, with new maps coming in November, which is awesome. Without the HQ feature, I'd rate it a 9/10, maybe even a 10/10. Hope this helped!

Just brillant played a bit of campaign and it's truly awesome graphics blew my mind how good the hraphica look Multiplayer pretty good the best it's been since black ops 3 a few of maps arent great omnimovement is really good.

The real meat and potatoes zombies is the absolute best it's been liberty falls is such an amazing map and terminus island is awesome as well two absolutely brilliant launch maps and storyline is much better than story we had in black ops cold war storyline this is more better and superior augment system is such a great addition along with melee macciato a great new perk.

The campaign was pretty damn good. Multi-player is HORRENDOUS with lag even with lowered graphic settings. The store has many bugs that Activision hasn't fixed yet so don't waste your Cod Points or cash until it's fixed. SBMM is a mixed bag too. Some days you're golden. Others it's cancer. A few hackers too. Idk if cod does anything with reports but you at least can block them. I hope they fix servers to handle the game because it's great otherwise, even solo Zombies lags like a beast. Good luck trying to be a completionist if they don't fix the servers because I seriously can not stress how bad servers are lol but at least overall it's ALMOST a return to classic style black ops.
