    Sommaire

Reviewers say 'Am I Racist' delves into race, bias, and DEI initiatives, lauded for its humor, interviews, and social experiments. Matt Walsh's performance and the film's thought-provoking nature receive praise. However, critics argue it lacks depth, oversimplifies issues, and relies on satire over substantive critique. Some feel it misses opportunities for deeper engagement, opting for humor and "gotcha" moments. Despite mixed opinions, the film is recognized for initiating crucial discussions on race and identity.

Dude needs to let people talk

So much of what the interviewees are saying is ridiculous and they talk themselves in circles. They make outrageous statements about inherent white supremacy, and draw so many invisible lines it's honestly sad. The fact that people pay to go to seminars to talk about how evil they are is so so sad on its own.

For whatever reason that's not enough for this guy. He's constantly trying to make jokes (that never land) then repeats them over and over. The intent is clearly to make everyone feel uncomfortable But it totally takes away from the impact of what he's trying to prove.

It's sad because this could have been an amazing and impactful mockumentary, but instead ends up boring. My grandmother used to say you have to ears and one mouth for a reason, and this guy needs to learn that lesson.

    7 quality 8 for relevance

We laughed more than I expected and the commentary really was not provocative. The documentary does a good job of showing not telling and the unifying overall message is exactly what we need these days. Glad to have someone call out the racism and division being spread under the guise of DEI. The movie is heads and shoulders better than any of the other daily wire films and I would happily watch it again and recommend to everyone I know. I think that even people that don't Share the producer's worldview can appreciate the social commentary and the fact that he seems to only punch up not down. The people that he confronts negatively are people specifically trying to spread here and division and making money on it can't picture a more worthy endeavor in filmmaking.

Great Dive into the Racism Controversy

I've been a fan of Matt Walsh's since i watched "What is a Woman" and this movie was just as good in my opinion. It's definitely not for everyone. It definitely exposes what's going on in the world today with everyone calling everyone else racist which a lot of people are profiting from. Some of the moments in this movie can seem a little long at times, but not too bad. There were also a few moments in the movie where I was just wondering how there can be people like this in the US. How Matt Walsh kept a straight face while making this movie is amazing. If you are curious or not about watching this movie, just go see it.

The people who need to see this, won't

Definitely worth the watch, though the people who would benefit most from checking it out won't. So this is essentially a "preaching to the choir" situation. Still, it was pretty funny and had relevant points to make. Walsh does a good job of just sitting back and let these people who profit off of manufacturing "racism" everywhere just bury themselves with their own ludicrous words. Will it change their minds? No, because people like this who are hell-bent on keeping "racism" alive (even though, as Thomas Sowell said, it's on life support) stand to lose too much if the problem goes away for the most part. Video review to come shortly.

    Am I Racist? Film Review

Opening up this weekend, and starting off strong among other critics, the new documentary by the Daily Wire tackles another controversial subject. Matt Walsh is currently a commentor on the Daily Wire and is also widely known for his previous documentary titled "What is a Woman?". Now, Matt Walsh hits the road again to attempt to understand "Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion" (DEI), and maybe determine whether or not he is indeed a racist. All of this is covered in the documentary titled, in the form of another question, "Am I Racist?".

In the documentary, Matt Walsh meets with DEI specialists, authors, attended support groups, and average people off the street to understand further racism in the United States specifically. Even going as far as disgusting himself as the liberal archetype and receiving his DEI certification. The documentary is built as a journey of self-discovery as well as a comedy. There are serious moments as well, but mostly the audience (as well as myself) were laughing often throughout the documentary. For those not familiar with Matt Walsh's dry-comedy style, it can be difficult to determine when he is being serious and when he is joking.

Personally, I like how this documentary (technically call it a mockumentary) plays out from beginning to end. The production team at the Daily Wire did an amazing job with the organization of the documentary and time was spent wisely. There's definitely an underlining message that can be seen between each of the interview sessions and leads up to an overall message at the end. Pretty simple documentary and the comedy is the icing on the cake.

I like the runtime; however, I believe more ground could've been covered on the subject. Especially with origins of DEI, more interviews/investigations, and even how DEI affects other countries. I believe this documentary would do well with sequel or an extended cut. I would think more background on DEI and future policies would yield interesting finds.

Overall, another documentary triumph for Daily Wire and a congrats to Matt Walsh and his team. For those who enjoy Matt Walsh and his content, this project is made specifically for you. I recommend anyone interested in current events check out the documentary as well. Some people might find its content enlightening.

Matt Walsh: [interrupts] I don't think that's what it is, I think mansplain is to make an assumption. To say something in an assuming way.
