This was great, yes or yes?
Tim Dillon is a sharp shooter and this show is deeply nihilistic, yet deeply human at the same time, an homage to the 90s tv shows exposing people's dirty little secrets.
I'm torn between wanting more and being afraid of feeling exceedingly dirty watching it for longer, so I'd say the editing is on point, and we can see as credits roll that they shot much more.
I hope Tim drops some weight so we can enjoy his shenanigans for many decades, his tongue is sharp and he's probably in my top 3 comedians right now.
He does fake business, now a fake tv show.
Life in the big city.

This special was absolutely hysterical! For those who may not know, Tim Dillon is a professional comedian that has a very successful podcast where he gives sarcastic and absurdist takes on politics and pop culture. By taking the skills he has honed on his podcast and fusing them with a genre of television that already skews to the absurd, Dillon has created a monster hit. The structure of the show is set up similar to Maury, with multiple segments of people with various problems hashing them out with their loved ones in front of us. However, in This Is Your Country, the jokes start flying right away. Between the on-stage drama, Dillon's commentary, audience participation, and the hilariously crafted on-screen graphics there's hardly a moment to catch your breath between the laughs. I won't spoil any of the specifics, you'll just have to tune in yourself to experience what your country has become.
Netflix, if you're reading this, let Tim make more of these!

I loved these shows in the 90's and this one has it all: drama, shock, laughter and... heart? It has all of the fun of the originals (Jerry Springer, Sally Jesse Raphael, Oprah Winfrey, Rikki Lake) but it isn't quite as mean as they could often be. 'This is Your Country' feels both nostalgic and fresh. I really hope to see more episodes! Lets have a full season next Netflix! I would also love a segment that follows up on all of the guests after some time has passed.
Tim Dillon is a great host! He keeps it all moving and has great timing with his jokes. Tim is able to hit that sweet spot that is just cheesy and corny enough to still be funny.
You have to watch this! Dont hesitate!

No clue how this is so highly rated. I thought it was going to be some type of comedy show. It's just scripted trash "reality" TV. I thought I was watching Jerry Springer again or something equally stupid and mind numbing. This is billed as a "Comedy, Talk Show". Yeah it is neither a decent talk show or funny in any way shape or form. The subject matter is rediculous and obviously scripted. It has all the usual elements of the 90's trash TV talk shows like Jerry Springer, Ricki Lake and the like. What a waste of 47min of my life. I kept watching hoping it would get better and it never did. What a waste of time.
I'm a big Tim Dillon fan and felt like he's the perfect fit for this type of show. We really need trashy talk shows to make a comeback with Jerry Springer passing away. He had fantastic crowd work and even when he broke character it made the moments even that much more hilarious. The diverse number of issues addressed between each guest was also fantastic. The show didn't have a theme at all so it was pretty cool to jump in between the issues. He also got a great crowd involved which added to the hilarity of the situations. I'm sad this didn't get much advertising and probably won't get another installation but I believe Netflix would miss out by not shooting another one. 4/5 stars.
