I love it when a Pakistani drama treats its audience with respect and Raqeeb Se does exactly that. The show does not shy away from portraying harsh realities and nothing is sugar coated. You watch the characters gradually evolve as they are shaped by the events unfolding around them. The acting is top notch and I almost feel the need to check in on the characters to make sure they are all okay because the performances and characterisation are simply brilliant.
Raqeeb Se presents women as empowered and men who openly acknowledge their flaws which is both refreshing and thought provoking. Iqra Aziz delivers an absolute masterclass in acting and I do not think I have seen such a powerful performance in recent years.
If you are after a typical masala drama where you can switch your brain off this is not for you but if you enjoy thought provoking storytelling that sparks open discussions after each episode then Raqeeb Se is an absolute must watch.
