Although nothing novel or groundbreaking, the movie for most parts engages and entertains.
First half is hilarious, with constant humor, subtle yet effective emotions, and pre-interval twist hits the nail, ends well. Second half should have been handled better, especially the emotions, felt undercooked and generic at places, but nothing feels out of place.
Pradeep once again hits it out of park with his infectious and unique screen presence, making a mark for himself in rom com entertainers. Mamitha looks cute and gives a good performance, Sarath Kumar role comes with a twist, and the veteran actor pulls off with ease. Rest all fine.
Technically, movie looks cool, thanks to cinematography by Niketh Bommi, editing by Barath is okay. Man of discussion, Sai Abhyankkar, music although not so impressive, does well with his score, utilises the BOOM song well.
Coming to writer director Keerthiswaran, he comes up with a good and relatable subject, scores in terms of direction, but writing needs some tinkering.
BOTTOMLINE : PRADEEP RANGANATHAN AND GENZ, MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN, THUMBS UP 👍

"Dude" (2025) is a film that successfully delivers a good and fun watch, largely due to the amazing performance and charismatic presence of its lead, Pradeep Ranganathan. He once again proves that he is in top gear, effortlessly carrying the film with his relatable energy and compelling acting.
Pradeep Ranganathan is undoubtedly the film's strongest asset. His ability to blend youthful charm with genuine emotion is a highlight, making the movie feel fresh and resonant. He is amazing in the role, engaging the audience from start to finish.
The film operates well as a fun and lighthearted entertainer. It strikes a chord with its blend of humor, romance, and youthful vibe, making it a generally enjoyable cinematic experience. While the film is very good, it is not without its minor flaws. Minor dips in the narrative or moments that feel less polished might be present, but they are ultimately overshadowed by the fun factor and Pradeep's top-tier performance.
Overall, "Dude" is a film that delivers on its promise of entertainment, offering a good and fun watch that is significantly elevated by Pradeep Ranganathan's amazing performance.

Dude starts off on a light and entertaining note. The comedy portions may not be plenty, but the ones that are there work well enough to keep you hooked. Mamitha Baiju really stands out - her emotional scenes are easily among the film's best moments, carrying a genuine depth that elevates the drama.
There aren't any unnecessary songs thrown in just for the sake of it; every track feels placed with purpose, which helps the flow of the first half. Speaking of which, the first half mostly rides on entertainment, and the last 20 minutes in particular pack some neat twists and high moments that grab attention.
However, once the story crosses the interval point - which, honestly, already feels like a natural ending - the second half slows down. It follows a single track without much new to offer. Some might find it a bit flat or even boring in parts, especially since there's almost no comedy to lighten the mood after the break.
Still, despite its uneven pacing, "Dude" ends up being a decent, watchable film. The performances, moments of emotion, and a strong first half make it worth a try.

Honestly I loved it. Both Pradeep and Mamita were excellent in their given roles. To those who claimed Pradeep struggles in emotional scenes, his acting skills definitely peaked and improved so much. Nothing out of ordinary storyline but great execution. Such a feel good movie for Deepavali. Must watch.

A good message a new story movie must watch. Atleast all should watch it one time. A story for Gen z for our now present and next leading generation should know this thing which have been told in the movie. And the main thing that in a relationship break up the only one who sacrifice the more is boys best they think ok she will good in future that message. But for this thing you will not ok with me ok let me clear u , u will tell " Hey no boys will torture the girl he stop her marriage " Let's thing once whether all boys after break up are stops the gf marriage , No it's all in cinema and may be one or two but not all.

Dude is an entertainer with a few thoughtful moments tucked in. The trailer gave a glimpse of the tone, and interestingly, the meter shown there appears in the film too-though the incidents and twists differ from expectations.
Pradeep continues his streak from his last two outings, repeating his signature energy and traits. He's engaging in most scenes, though a few-especially those involving his mother-go slightly overboard. Mamitha, on the other hand, delivers a standout performance, managing her character's emotional shifts with impressive control. Hridhu Haroon's innocent, likeable character adds warmth, while Sarathkumar's role comes as a surprising delight.
The film benefits from Sai Abhyankar's chartbuster album and strong background score, which elevate the overall experience. Director Keerthiswaran deserves credit for attempting a progressive idea within a mainstream commercial framework-though some plot elements might test believability.
Overall, Dude works well as a lively entertainer with heart, backed by good performances and strong music.

"it is a genZ treatment to a old school conflict"
DUDE, i saw a movie yesterday named telusu kadha, which also released at the same time as this, and i can pretty much sum up both the experiences the same way- interesting films which have my attention throughout the duration of the film but dont feel like great films by the end.
Like i said, a very interesting and engaging watch. It starts of a little bizare and u just get hooked. Atleast in my case.
But yeah somewhere in the second half i didnt like it. But overall enjoyable.
Definetly NOT EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA. BUT ENTERTAINING AND FUNNY.

Good comedy But For true Love it's not The movie succeeds as a light-hearted comedy, but when it comes to portraying true love, it misses the mark. From the opening scenes, it's clear that humor is the film's strongest suit. The witty dialogue, situational gags, and playful chemistry between the characters make it entertaining to watch. You find yourself laughing easily, enjoying the rhythm of the jokes, and appreciating how the film never takes itself too seriously. It's the kind of comedy that can lift your mood after a long day.
However, beneath all the laughter, the emotional core feels hollow. The supposed "love story" never truly convinces the audience that the two leads share a deep or meaningful bond. Their relationship develops too quickly, relying on cliché moments rather than genuine emotional growth. The film mistakes attraction and banter for real affection, leaving the love angle feeling forced and superficial. While comedy can enhance romance, here it overshadows it entirely.
A good romantic comedy should balance humor and heart, making us laugh while also touching something deeper. This movie only manages the first half. It entertains, yes, but it doesn't move you. When the credits roll, you remember the jokes-but not the love story. For viewers seeking a quick laugh, it's a fun ride. But for those looking for sincerity, connection, and emotional truth, it's not worth it. True love deserves more than punchlines; it deserves honesty and depth. And that's where this comedy, despite its charm, ultimately falls short.

It's definitely a great comedy, emotional and engaging movie. It has been some time since we saw a comedy movie from beginning to end. Pradeep, Mamitha, Sarath kumar and all characters acted very well. We can definitely watch with family, especially no violence and vulgarity. The music and BGM is good, the climax could have been better, but not much to complain.

"Dude" is a refreshing youth drama with the right balance of humor, emotion, and energy. Pradeep Ranganathan delivers another charming performance - natural, funny, and full of confidence. Mamitha Baiju adds warmth and good chemistry, making their pairing one of the highlights.
The film's first half moves briskly with light comedy and relatable moments, while the second half dives into more emotional territory. The story is predictable at times but remains engaging thanks to the lead performances and neat direction. The songs and BGM deserve special mention - the new composer has done a good job keeping the film lively.
Overall, Dude is a feel-good entertainer with a simple story and a strong heart. Not flawless, but definitely worth watching.

An unusual genz love and drama movie, these kids can relate very well, but sad for 90s kids. Not a big story just revolves around some areas only. But the intensive drama screenplay will felt curious. As usual Pradeep's materials are there, but this time he introduced some new styles for this character which was so stylish, feel like genz Rajinikanth. At some point in this story may get the feeling that this is not acceptable, while as the movie progresses it will end up with a feel good ending. Comedy was the heart of this movie, even though in serious scenes. We can enjoy it very well. Music was absolutely banger, Sai made high intense beat and furious music and scores. Mamitha and Sarath Kumar's acting was good. But Pradeep was living and taken as his own role for this character.

Theys said this movie meant for GenZ's
Is this where our society going?
Below average movie with trembling plot. Screen play and the actors performance saved the game for director. It's very usual in tamil cinemas and maybe that's why star's oriented fanbase is rich instead of quality story oriented fans in India.
Need to improve in character designing.. Need to improve back story for several characters.. Climax is poor.. Personally felt bg scores need to improve, lacking emotional weight and way to go Sai (music composer).
The sacrifice Agan doing for his sweetheart was very artificial and unrealistic, and how can Kural don't see your that true love and continues to use him like a parasite 😕 Director can consider changing the movie name & genre as "parasite 2" psychological thriller. 😂🙄😅

It is very promising movie for one time watch.pradeep ranganathan was the torch bearer of the film his emotions worked with everyone especially the emotional scenes. And Mamitha's expressions killed everyone.... And offcourse the music the movie would be empty without the sai bgm ......

Worst movie in PR's career.
This story normalizes everything that's bad for society - absolutely disgusting logic.
Forget about society; even as a cinema lover, I wouldn't want to watch such a movie ever in my life.
A well-acting heroine's career might easily end because of choosing such a wrong script.
I have a lot more to say like this.
This will definitely flop - negative comments are coming soon!

Good movie by director and it's a brave attempt for his 1st flick, and I would suggest rather than watching it as a boy's and girl's story in a regular setup watch the movie as a symbols where hero plays lifestyle of nowadays youngsters and heroine as societal norms and thoughts of now. And the cinematography and music was as usually nice work done and it was a nice work.

A very well-directed, light-hearted rom-com with plenty of relatable moments - but unfortunately, a totally flawed story. Director Keerthi, in his debut, deserves special praise for staying true to the genre throughout. The tone of the movie is consistent, the pacing is smooth, and the overall presentation feels fresh. For a first-time filmmaker, that's commendable. He clearly understands how to handle humor, emotions, and relationships on screen - but where the film truly falters is in its writing.
The story feels wildly impractical and at times borders on absurdity. What starts off as a sweet, realistic premise slowly turns into a string of improbable events that simply don't hold up to logic. It's almost as if the script tries too hard to sell an ideal or a message that doesn't reflect real life, and that forced agenda weakens what could have been a genuinely enjoyable romantic comedy.
That said, the performances are the film's biggest strength. Pradeep once again proves that his script selections guarantee entertainment value, even when the story itself doesn't fully deliver. He brings charm and conviction to a character that might otherwise have fallen flat. Sarath Kumar delivers an impressive performance with a balanced mix of maturity and emotion, while the actor from Parida Bangal adds genuine humor and energy to every scene he's in.
The music, composed by debutant Sai, works beautifully with the visuals. The songs and background score elevate several moments, helping the movie maintain its emotional rhythm. Both the debutant director and music director seem perfectly in sync - a creative pairing that definitely works.
Overall, this film deserves appreciation for its direction, performances, and music - but it equally deserves criticism for its unrealistic storytelling. A film that shines in execution but stumbles hard in logic.
Though the fil deserves atleast 5 stars, have to reduce 2 for the forced ending that contradicts with the whole 'practical' angle of the film.

Message and logic of the film can be ok but its disgusting to watch it. Irritating to watch it, a guy marrying a girl who is in love with somebody else, then a baby and the whole movie drama is traumatic. No matter the good screenplay or fast pace or any good review, i still felt awkward the all of the movie.

Please don't believe the 10 star review, until the first half I really thought the movie is going somewhere that will be entertaining, but the second of half become the pit of tragedy, from the beginning to the end of second half it was a disaster. They are coining this to be genz trend, I really doubt that, the Sarathkumar character should be hated and we don't feel any connect at the end because the director made his main characters to be so stupid which overpowers Sarathkumar's character and it is not really not a good sign for a cinema and an upcoming actor like PR, he should focus of selecting good scripts. Manjima's role was used to make pradeep's character to look good, which doesnt felt right.
