Cassidy, (Nikki DeLoach), is President of a small college, due to a budget shortfall, the School Trustees are forcing her to cut the Arts Program. If that wasn't enough, a pipe has burst in the Football Dorm, and while repairs are being made, due to a housing shortage, the handsome football coach, Logan, (Warren Christie), forces her to agree to house 5 players in the President's home, where she lives . The players turn her house into a disaster area, so she convinces Logan to move into the house too to keep the players in line, and help them to keep the house clean and organized. Cassidy has an opportunity to convince an alumni member to make a large donation as a solution to save the Arts Program. Logan is also pressured to turn the losing football program around. Together, they help each other develop plans to get both their tasks accomplished. And as they work together as a team, Cassidy and Logan develop feelings for one another. But as you probably already guessed, something happens to prevent their entire plan from being presented, and the large donation is at risk. Will the Arts Program be cut??? What will happen regarding the football team, Coach and players???
Nikki DeLoach and Warren Christie are perfect in their roles and have good chemistry. I would have liked just a little bit more romance. The fun part of the movie is to see the transformation of the players and Cassidy herself, as they join together and become a "family". Yes, the movie is predictable, as Hallmark movies are, but this movie offers a fun, charming and engaging time.

Throw in some chaos, a bit of silliness and a load of romance and you get this fun movie. Nikki and Warren are so comfortable with each other I enjoyed their last movie together as well. Their pairing is natural and easy. The support cast is solid and the football story appropriate for the season.
Definitely worth a watch.

7.7 stars.
It's an entertaining and somewhat inspiring story of a college president (DeLoach) who is forced to house a bunch of rowdy football freshmen in her home while their dorm is being repaired. The coach (Christie) also helps with the situation, because this group of young men are messy and loud.
Eventually everyone bonds, so the story continues along its natural course as both coach and president grow closer. Soon their respective responsibilities add up and things become somewhat overwhelming for both. He has aspirations he's now starting to realize and she has a college to run, alumni and faculty to please, donors to appease...meanwhile he's always wanted to be a coach at a top tier college instead of this one and it's possible he will get that chance. Of course, that means he might have to leave and that will result in hurt feelings.
Of course there is a moment of tension and they have a slight falling out, in the usual Hallmark fashion. Honestly, I thought it wasn't going to happen, runtime was dwindling and they were still getting along so well. But the inevitable happened and things got dicey, but the end is happy (as always).
What's different about 'Home Turf'? Just about half of it doesn't fit the usual formula. There are many little nuances that make this movie feel special, which is refreshing. In the end it's better than average for entertainment factor. But, in contrast, the chemistry and romance aspects are just a notch above average. However, I'll gladly rewatch 'Home Turf' in a few years, because as a whole it's pretty good.

Home Turf plays the Hallmark game with a little extra charm. Nikki DeLoach keeps things grounded, her warmth carrying a story that could've easily tipped into cliché. The setup's familiar - small-town stakes, and big emotions, but the balance of humor and sincerity makes it feel fresh enough to enjoy. It's cozy, light, and exactly what it promises to be.

Love the relationship between the president and the team! This was a great concept! Nikki Deloach looks like she's having fun too. Would love to see more like this. Nikki and Warren seem to work really well together. I just really enjoyed this movie and hope they make many more with a similar theme.

A number of the usual Hallmark formula story elements are blessedly missing. This allows all attention to be focused on the two superior leads (Warren Christie and Nikki DeLoach) and five charmingly naive football team members. The house setting is also well done as are the few scenes with the wealthy potential donor. Highly recommended.

Super cute. Especially since I'm a single professional AND huge football fan, I would have loved being in her shoes!
Thank you, Hallmark, for trying to break away from the "big city, over-worked, bad person goes to a small town to realize what really matters" storyline!
I always love Nicky, and this was a terrific change of pace!

Cassidy (Nikki Deloach), the new president of Ohio's Whittendale College, finds that the school needs an infusion of funds if she is to save the Arts curriculum. When a water line bursts in an athletic dorm, and five students need to be relocated off campus, she meets the new football coach, Logan (Warren Christie), who protests that the temporary lodging is too distant. A compromise is made: the five athletes will move into the President's house. Cassidy soon finds her life disrupted by the living habits of her young houseguests.
The president and the coach work together to weather the exigencies of their situation, bringing them closer. There are some touching moments among the mostly comical moments that make this rom-com well worth watching.
The chemistry between the principals is solid, though not overtly romantic. But the best reason for watching is Nikki Deloach, whose energy and comedic timing elevate this Hallmark offering above the usual fare. A sequel could certainly be justified.
