Sure, the many derogatory reviews are right: this series is not of Shakespearean quality and will probably not win Emmys; and yes, it's basically an upgraded telenovela, laced with Latin temperament and titillating sex-scenes. But OMG, it's just SO entertaining that you couldn't care less about all that, just let yourself go with the flow and enjoy!
The thrilling story is almost over-filled with murders and treason and revenge, every episode provides new twists and turns, the big villain Claudio (Erik Hayser) is hair-raisingly scary, and the rest of the main cast is not only a treat to watch, but their acting is in my humble opinion absolutely fine, with special mention of - apart from Hayser - Zuria Vega and Ana Sofia Gatica, who are both equally beautiful. So what sourpuss would dislike all that?!
Maybe the many steaming sex-scenes (at least one in every episode!) were a bit gratuit and unnecessary extensive, but even so they were beautifully staged, and every time Iván (Andres Baida) took off his shirt (if not more) it took my breath away! If anything to nitpick about, it would be the somewhat curious character of the female police officer, who for some 16 episodes had to walk around heavily pregnant, which didn't seem to have any purpose, so I kept wondering if the intended actress turned out to be pregnant in real life and they had to write it somehow into the story. But for the rest: a non pretentious but very entertaining series to binge!
