Why?
Who thought this was a good idea? I would really like to know. Because this is downright awful. From the first scene you realize is not going in the right direction and from there it just descends quickly into the abyss of awfulness . Or rather of... nothing new under the sun.
The idea to make children the leads was as a bad an idea as when George Lucas decided to create the cute Ewoks. Don't.
There is NOTHING connecting this with the original Alien movie. That's not true - everything is from the original film in terms of sets and props etc.
But it has nothing to do with the original's serious and realistic approach to sci-fi.
My main problems is emotional truth. Why the h-ell doesn't ANYBODY of the characters react truthfully?!
In the opening episode one of the main characters is attacked by an Xenomorph - and manages to escape (very silly btw) - only to in the next scene have forgotten about this horrific, near death experience?!
And this goes for ALL the characters, whether they're real or not. They don't react emotionally truthful to the scenes.
So why should we then care?
We don't.
I'm an shocked that a talented show runner like this created this awful work.
What happened?
Really.

Weak script in combination with weak direction makes this historical mess of a drama into an amateurish mess.
Poor and untalented directing with zero feeling and laughable staging
The pacing is film school like
Who thought these filmmakers could pull of this challenging task?!
I'm embarrassed.to watch this cringe rubbish.

Insanely moronic adaptation of a decent book into a complete and utter mess
The overdone overplayed and childish direction and poor writing is beyond watachsble
All characters have been painted dirty for some stupid reason
And why is there music throughout?!
A children's play would have been more enjoyable
Only the cinematography has any redeeming qualities- the rest is a banal mess
I seriously doubt this director has any talent.
