The showrunners and writers realized what went wrong in the prior movie. This time they remembered what made the TC show so good. Keep the plot simple amd focus on the characters, the dialogue, the style of the era, the witty banter, and the house.

An enjoyable film and fitting ending to a great enterprise.

Season 1 was an A Season 2 a B Season 3 a C

The show has lost its way unfortunately. Too many unnecessary characters, too much love interest for Spock (one each season?), Pike gets let's focus each season, the first officer is practically non existent, too many "silly" episodes, and amazingly the show is called "Strange New Worlds" but each season they visit fewer and fewer worlds and encounter fewer and fewer new species.

This movie is just awful. No compelling or character development. It's not about a Civil War at all. It's a generic, meandering story about people on a trek from A to B and weird stuff happens. There is no depth to the war scenes or how it's impacting the country. It's pointless and uninteresting. It's more about journalism than anything else but even with that theme, there is no depth to the story. The movies provides no character building or back stories. The action scenes are predictable and mostly not thrilling. It's not very dramatic and only chuckled once, so not very funny either. A big miss.
