I wasn't sure if I even wanted to watch this, but I finally gave it a try. The Beach House offered much more than I expected. In short, it's a solid body horror film clearly inspired by the iconic Body Snatchers movies, with touches borrowed from several others.
It's definitely a slow burner-halfway through, I still wasn't sure what the film was really about. Creepy elements are scattered throughout, not all of them tied directly to the mysterious infection. That said, there are a few "too good to be true" coincidences, where the exact odd thing needed just happens to be lying around.
The story itself was captivating, but I wasn't satisfied with the ending, which I felt needed more explanation. Still, despite its flaws, the movie is surprisingly well-made and absolutely worth a watch.

In this animated short, a girl with food allergies eats a peanut, which sends her on a strange journey with Death-who has taken the form of a Giant Peanut. Visually, the film is reminiscent of South Park, especially in the design of the main character, who somewhat resembles Kenny. The story unfolds through odd conversations, dangerous encounters, desperate escape attempts, worsening health, and bleak settings. Given the theme, this is hardly unexpected. Ultimately, the short serves as a striking reminder of how even a small amount of allergenic food can lead to dire consequences.
In this short film, a man receives a message instructing him to stop a foreign agent from stealing confidential material. Much like in the Mission: Impossible franchise, the message self-destructs after he reads it. He then sets out to complete the mission. Clearly, this is a zero-budget production, most likely created as an experiment to gain experience in making a home-made short film. However, I felt there were too many unnecessarily dark scenes. While I understand that the shadows are part of the story's tone, showing more of the events and characters in better lighting would have worked just as well-if not better.
