I really enjoyed the first episode, it really put its budget to use. The immersive feeling and initial excitement and intrigue were great. However, as the series goes on that fades, it becomes more convoluted in terms of clues and the journey they take. I also think that the emphasis on interpersonal relationships and dynamics during the game is hindering the show (episode 5) rather than adding any worthwhile drama. It does keep you guessing at times and the interactive element of guessing along online is fun and different (but could use some improvements).
After the social media hype of Stree 2 I became curious and was pleasantly surprised.
Being raised on movies such as Beetlejuice, scary movie, scream and the mask etc I never managed to find this type of genre of horror/fantasy with comedy in Hindi cinema except bhool bhulaiyaa which was good but didn't reach my standard completely. However this movie did!
The cast was great, the comedy was decent, it was wacky but still maintained a concise plot. I would watch again and certainly recommend. I plan to watch Stree 2 at some point and wonder how it stands up to its first part - although the online consensus seems to be positive.

The first season introduces us to a duo of polarity. McD being a girl-boss climbing the ladder a stickler for confessions, and Dodds a more awkward and slow but notices little details. Premise and direction reminiscent of Father Brown or Shakespeare and Hathaway. Thus I invested in a midday sleuth of utter charming nonsense. The character are like caricatures but this adds to the essence of the type of show I was looking for. Only for the entire charm and premise to be completely abandoned by season 4. A slow and painstaking act of what I interpreted as blatant disrespect to myself personally. The plots are convoluted at times and the decision to try compete with more dramatic elements may have cost what could have been a reliable but niche audience for the show makers. This review is littered with bias as I was looking for one thing and thought I had found it, only for the rug to be pulled from under me.
