There are many things I can say about this episode that I would have done differently. The stunts all feel very staged, which is something this show struggled with from episode 1. If you've seen this show, you'll know what I mean. I feel like many fans watching will see those bits as the ones to get through. The reward for tolerating those scenes however is very very very much worth it. I rated this 10 stars because you simply don't find adventures, chemistry and scenery this good anywhere else. I've looked, haven't found it. Mauritania is the most incredible place they have been (yet), the cars are just the coolest ones they've used in any of their roadtrips, and the final few minutes might be the most beautiful scene they've ever released. Just the sight of the Maserati, Jaaaag & Aston racing across the Sahara will be on my mind for the rest of my life. I can't imagine looking at that and not being desperate to one day do what they did here.

Getting emotionally ready now for the final one. Zimbabwe better be good, but at the very least, the penultimate episode of Clarkson, Hammond & May was just beautiful. The critic in me would rate this lower, but I just know that by the end of this weekend I'll have watched it at least 4 times. After I'm done typing this, I'm immediately starting the special all over again.

I adore this episode. I think it's the best anything that James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard "The Hamster" Hammond have ever put together.

I've seen every single episode of Top Gear & The Grand Tour, and me and my brother have bonded over watching them. My dreams of traveling the world and creating entertainment was partly sparked by their banter and the way they entertained (literally) 350 million people worldwide. I'm a fan. I promise you that.

To see these 3 do one of their travel specials but with boats felt so refreshing. The struggles they have in this episode all feel so new. We've seen flat tyres, overheated engines, faulty suspension, etc. Quite a few times on their roadtrips, and for good reason. But to see new struggles like steering and stopping your boat in just the right way so that you can fetch an item (in this case a cushion) from the water felt so new, our 3 friends struggling to survive a stormy sea was something they've never done before, Jeremy & Richard creating waves to annoy James and make his boat as stable as James Corden's career was again something very new.

Seamen to me felt like a perfect Clarkson, Hamond & May reboot. They were put in situations we've never seen before, we see them battle and struggle like never before and over all it just feels like a new experience.

I'm not a fan of James being left behind for a big chunk of the trip, but other then that I'm struggling to find any flaws with this amazing piece of television.

I do get the complaints, but I absolutely don't agree with them. Even if this episode had a 3.2 star rating on this site, for me personally this is my favourite piece of entertainment I've seen in my 20 year life. And I seriously wonder if it will be beaten. I watch this episode when I feel sad or need a cheering up. So if Richard, James, Jeremy's and the producers goal was to make people smile with the fierce struggle they had to endure with the creation of this episode, I can promise them that they succeeded.

This is a brilliant episode with a creative disaster and very good character development for both Lady Penelope and Gordon. This episode doesn't deserve a 6,8 rating. It deserves a decent 8 at least.
