This must've been written by AI or something because it is some of the worst writing I've heard in a while. The villain felt weak, the stakes were never raised, really cheesy dialogue, extremely predictable plot, dumb plot twists, really disappointing magic, and lack of likable new characters made this movie pretty dull. There is a few neat moments / cool shots, and Woody Harrelson handled the poor writing the best, but it still was not enough. Definitely not as good as the other 2 in the franchise, would not recommend going out of your way for this one. (6.8/10)
Yorgos continues to amaze with his fantastical style. While the scope of this story is rather small (which could affect rewatchability) it is executed to near perfection. Phenomenal performances from Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons (who better get some awards for this), great makeup, great editing, awesome cinematography, several good songs in the sound track, and some astounding writing. The movie is mostly dialogue but stayed interesting and unique the whole time. I loved the characters in the story, even though there were few. I would've loved to have seen a bit more of the cop to better understand his dynamic with Teddy and also some more backstory on what Teddy had done prior to the film. I think there could've been a few more comedic moments too. But the film flows so well the way that it is and held suspense throughout to a wonderful ending. Definitely one of the most well made movies this year. (9.5/10)
