Trigger warning. If you have experience of family violence, this movie trivialises that experience.
Remember Mills and Boon - this is one of those. The formula is: two people belong together, but an obstacle separates them.
In this instance, the 'obstacle' is family violence.
It's really just a boring love triangle flick, with the emphasis on lots of closeups of attractive faces. Reminds me of the Gilmore Girls in its depth and complexity.
The cast did ok with a very bland script and predictable story line. The editing and cinematography was paint by numbers. The soundtrack was awful.
The subject, and cast, deserve better.
