Likeable characters on a fun, post-apocalyptic adventure!
It's hard to say what genre this is. It's often classified as horror or zombie, but it feels more like a sci-fi adventure with elements of comedy and horror.
Thom Eberhardt is at the helm here and does a surprisingly good job mixing together the conflicting tones of horror and comedy. It's never really laugh-out-loud funny. It's lighthearted and almost wholesome at times.
The stars of the show, Catherine Mary Stewart, Kelli Maroney, and Robert Beltran, are the real reason to watch this movie. They are likeable protagonists with good chemistry!
Unfortunately, the great Geoffrey Lewis is not so great here because the script doesn't give him much to do. In fact, the script never really decides on a major antagonist. This is probably the most critical flaw of the film. Without a well-developed, major antagonist, the film never fully blossoms.

A light-hearted giallo is a difficult genre. However, Antonia Margheriti pulls it off here with Naked You Die, which oddly enough features almost no nudity. And there's little to no blood here as well. But where the film succeeds at is having enjoyable characters put in difficult, if predictable, situations.
There are a couple murders at a girl's school. It's a low body count. The film is more than half over before someone discovers a body, and Michael Rennie arrives as the inspector on the case. Eleonora Brown plays the leading lady in peril. And Sally Smith plays the stand-out comic relief character. I never really laughed out loud, but she did a great job here and is a large part of why this movie works.
I was surprised how much I liked it considering its odd tonality compared with most gialli.
