POSITIVES:
1) The performances are incredible. Jeremy Allen White really embodies Springsteen in such an impressive way, whilst Jeremy Strong and Stephen Graham did amazing jobs in the supporting roles and should both be Oscar nominated in my opinion.
2) The music sequences are really engaging to watch. I couldn't help but find myself rocking along to them I thought especially the scenes of Springsteen performing on stage had a great energy to them.
3) Emotionally the film really worked for me. I found myself connected to all the characters and wanting the best for all of them. It's quite a bleak film and I certainly felt that.
NEGATIVES:
1) As is the case with almost all biopics, you get the sense like they've had to skip past important details of the real life events and as an audience member you're having to play catch up a bit every time there's a time jump in the film.
2) My main gripe with the film, as the title of this review states, is that it's just not really a film and not really cinematic at all to me. It's basically just following Bruce Springsteen round his life for a bit until the film quite suddenly ends. I get what they were going for by picking a specific point in Springsteen's life, rather than trying to focus on his entire life, but it just left the film feeling like so much was missing to me. The script could've definitely done with another few drafts for me and I'm just not sure at the end what kind of message or meaning I'm meant to be taking away from the film.

POSITIVES:
1) The visuals of the film really catch the eye and standout on the big screen.
2) The soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails was very entertaining and the sort of thing that I'll probably listen to in my free time.
3) The film zips along at a good pace, which is something at least.
NEGATIVES:
1) I thought the performances were all terrible. These are actors that have all been good in other thing, but all seem to be completely phoning it in here.
2) The plot and the writing are just woeful. I didn't care at all about the events that were unfolding and some of the dialogue made me want to slam my head into a wall.
3) Despite being fast paced, the film was still really dull to me and had me yawning and struggling to stay awake quite a lot.
