Not a bad watch. Jai Courtney's character could rival Buffalo Bill or Mick Taylor. I found the character of Zephyr to be annoying and sometimes the movie goes for the usual tropes, especially the ending, which was sadly quite predictable. Still one of the better shark movies I've seen in a while because there are plenty of bad ones out there. The choice to use cover bands with some of the music instead of the originals is always a disappointment. 6.5/10.
I waited a long time to watch this because I suspected it was bad and I was right. It has about the shallowest story line you could think of, bad dialogue and laughable effects. Everyone is "boss" and it's full of wide eyed expressions and grunting noises. The soundtrack is about as annoying as they come.
If you can endure two hours of torture, rape and violence all in the most cartoonish way possible, then have at it. I may have been able to endure this when I was fifteen years old, but not today. Good luck!

Low on excitement, low on effects, low on the writing scale. This is surely not one of the better episodes. There is no way to get a good werewolf story out of such a short runtime.
They like to squirt blood on people in this show but they have no visible or open wounds. The blood is just "there". Lazy. I first noticed this in the "Ice" episode when the guy has two diagonal blood trails down his chest, but nowhere for the blood to be leaking from, but, I digress.
Mulder and Scully are dropped into this situation that had no business being in, the effects are silly, the whole thing feels rushed and Scully has an unreal amount of deniability here.

Good paranormal shows are my guilty pleasures. Unfortunately, there are a lot out there and not many "good" ones to choose from. If I had to narrow it down, it would be this show, A Haunting and These Woods are Haunted (formerly Terror in the Woods).
Often it seems, shows like this are dropped after a couple of seasons, then the creators realize they made something that people liked and they attempt to bring it back, but unfortunately, the original formula is lost. I believe that's what happened with this show as well as seasons 4 and 5 are not as good as 1-3.
I believe this is also due in part to many of the cases in the first 3 seasons being well known and having a lot of footing such as the travis walton event, a haunting in Connecticut and fox hollow farm for example. Still, some of the episodes in the last 2 seasons are hard to get through. This is my second time watching through this series.

I put off watching this movie for 7 years because I heard it was pretty bad. Well, I finally gave in and watched it tonight and you know what? I made the right decision waiting. I have been and Alien and Predator fan since 1979 and I have never liked the combining of the 2 franchises, so I thought AvP 1 and 2 were rock bottom, but along comes this film and it fits right in with them. I caught myself sitting there with my mouth gaped open in disbelief many times throughout this film because there were so many bad elements to it that I was actually stunned. It was as if I was watching a parody of a Predator movie. The only one who didn't let me down in this was the Predator itself, and I don't mean that CGI abomination. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
This show is now named "These Woods are Haunted", although I have no idea why they changed the name, but I suspect it's to let the viewer know that it's a paranormal type show and not a survival show. I remember watching the first season when it was first released under the other title, and I could have sworn that the episodes were different.
I like the fact that they show where each event was supposed to have happened. The aerial views and outdoor footage helps sell the show. I did notice once or twice where a bit of animation was used, so I hope they refrain from that. In the future because it detracts from the show. The reenactment actors are pretty good for the most part and look like the people who they are supposed to be portraying. I thought season 2 was best, so I took note of the directors and from what I could tell the same three directors were used through the series, so I'm not sure what the magic formula was there. Maybe the stories.
Many of the stories lean heavy toward bigfoot, but I guess that's to be expected when the show takes place in the woods. I did appreciate the other ones that were sprinkled in, ghosts, spirits, shadow entities, ufo, dogman, etc. I'd like to see them continue with more seasons because I think it could get even better with a little tightening up.
