There are LGBTQ+ movies that are fun to watch, but they can be very fluffy and often play into stereotypes. This mini-series avoids that trap.
There is a slow tempo that unfolds as the flaws in the characters are gradually revealed. But it is how the couple's devotion to each other, commitment, and focus on achieving their goal of adopting. The little boy they have chosen is broken and fragile. That becomes the central theme as we see the catharsis this child and his needs promote. The focus on healing cannot be ignored either. Brilliantly filmed and acted!

I think this is a really unque showcase of a cast of amazing people. I got hooked by accident. Looking for something to watch I stmbled on it. I have spent a few weeks binging all 17 seasons waiting for the last 2 episodes of season 17 to drop. The series itself is a brilliant mix of detective and science fiction with a Jules Verne turn. I gotta say too I really enjoy the Crabtree and Llwelyn characters. Crabtrees wide eyed optomism and Llwelyn's bumbling cluttzy brilliance. These characters are unique and for the generations. I believe I have watched history being made. I know why it has been a fan favorite for 17 seasons.
