After all of the audio cuts from the trailers that had me SO looking forward to entire numbers, I daresay it landed flat for me. I wanted to be gut-wrenched during and after this film but I just wasn't. There wasn't enough tension build-up to release during For Good and unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the delivery. I left the theater unmoved by the supporting cast performances. Act II is known to be the weaker act for the stage version, but the film had an opportunity to deliver better pacing and fuller picture. The plot points that feel rushed on stage felt rushed in the move as well.

Overall, the film kept my interest and boasts stunning optics, but doesn't touch the level of masterpiece or re-watchability part one had.

Adversity, achievement, girlhood; it's all here and it was very well done. Given the context, there is so much required to set the scene and really showcase the obstacles these young women faced-and I'd say it was covered very creatively through the use of both the script and the scene settings. Subtlety in this balance is an art and they got it right.

I give this an 8 instead of a 9 or 10 because ultimately the movie ended without us knowing much about what each of the girls actually did on the robotics team. I would've loved a little bit more featured time dedicated to showing us how each girl contributed and why they were selected for the skills they brought to the table.

I found myself very intrigued by the world-building during the I first ~30-40mins. Between the set visuals and character exposition, we learn a lot about the way this near-future world has developed. As an avid sci-fi fan, this really interested me and I enjoyed seeing and further imagining this futuristic world. However, as soon as the world-building comes to an end and the film moves into the plot line alone, the experience becomes immediately hollow; lacking dramatic depth and investment in our main character or the outcome of the story.

I found that by the end I was watching simply to finish the movie I'd started, not because I was super invested in its conclusion. Visuals continue to be great throughout, but unsupported by a compelling storyline, the overall experience fell short.
