Is a big music enthusiast. Gallo owns over 30,000 vinyl albums and has the largest collection of vintage Hi Fi and audio gear in the USA.

During his late teens he fled to Europe alone and ended up spending a year traveling around France, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Sweden, Russia, Denmark and Italy.

Very good friend of Johnny Ramone, Rick Rubin, PJ Harvey, John Frusciante, Lukas Haas, Val Kilmer and Anna Sui.

Has over 7500 videotapes, laser discs, DVDs, and film prints.

Was engaged to Italian actress Asia Argento in 1998.

Was in an experimental noise band called Gray with New York artist Jean Michel Basquiat in the early 1980s. They played at all the most popular punk rock/new wave clubs in the city, including Max's Kansas City, CBGB's, and one (now famous) night at the Mudd Club. They broke up soon after and Basquiat became famous and several years after that Gallo would also become famous.

Was a hip-hop breakdancer in the early '80s as evidenced in the DVD "Graffiti Rock".

The Italian rock band, Timoria, named the song, "Vincent Gallo Blues", after him. Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) of Cat Power named the song, "Mr. Gallo", after him.

Dropped out of Sweet Home Central Schools, New York. (1978)

Released an album (titled "When") on the Warp label in 2001. He composed, performed and produced all the music on the record.

Living in downtown Los Angeles. Within the past 24 months, he has written, directed and produced three films, two of which were in the 67th Venice film festival and both were in competition. At that festival, Gallo won the best actor prize. Mr. Gallo is currently set to star in an Italian film titled La légende de Kaspar Hauser (2012). (avril 2011)
