Rohit Shetty's film Simmba, was a remake of a south Indian film titled "Temper". When the original director wanted to remake the film in Hindi, he approached Abhishek Bachchan. For unknown reason's the project did not work out. When Rohit Shetty decided to make "Temper" in Hindi, Abhishek was once again approached for the film, but for the villain's role. Abhishek turned down the offer. Then it was offered to R. Madhavan.
