Nick convinced Jane Krakowski not to change her name. During rehearsals for the Broadway show Grand Hotel, the then unknown Jane Krakowski and Nick (who was working for the producers of the show) were sitting in the back of the 46th Street (now Richard Rogers) Theater and Jane told Nick that she was going to change her name, because Tommy Tune didn't think it was a star's name. Nick told Jane to keep her real name, stating that once the show opened and everyone saw her performance, they read what would be great reviews for her performance and she was nominated for a Tony Award, everyone would know who she was, know how to pronounce her name, and she would be a star. Jane kept her name and Nick's predictions all came true.
