Nathaniel Wales Faxon

At the 2012 Academy Awards, Faxon shared the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay with Alexander Payne(I) and Jim Rash for "The Descendants". Their screenplay had been circulating in Hollywood for several years and in 2008 had been featured on "The Black List" of well-liked but as yet unproduced scripts as recognized by Hollywood executives.

Married Meaghan Gadd on February 3, 2007. She is the daughter of well-known drummer Steve Gadd.

Works as a "Groundling" at the improvisational comedy club of the same name in Los Angeles, California.

Nat's father is from a family with deep roots in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and is of English descent. Nat's maternal grandparents were German Jewish emigrants, from Köthen, Saxony-Anhalt and Hamburg-Altona, respectively.
