At 15 years old, he typed a letter to Steven Spielberg asking him if he could be his apprentice. He had it hand delivered to him personally by Steven's secretary. Four days later, he received a hand written letter back telling him, "Don't waste your time apprenticing. You can only learn from doing, not watching. This is what I learned. Good luck + go for it!"
