Heaven Bound

This was such a heart warming film, but what caught me off guard was how funny it was....this movie is great for ALL ages and the story line/plot was great. The quality of the acting and the film making was top notch! Awesome to see my buddy Danny Vinson in another Great movie......Keep making great family friendly films like this one.

Heaven Bound casts Michael Joiner as an ad executive who gets charge of the dog mascot of a dog food company and in a moment of carelessness gets the poor pooch killed. Of course he loses his job and all his friends and now sits at home alone while wife Nancy Stafford supports both of them.

Stafford is a nurse and she learns that her doctor Danny Vinson has a fabulous collection of jewelry he plans to sell to fund an orphanage. She decides charity begins at home so she and Joiner and her lame brain brother Torry Martin invites himself in on the caper.

Of course it goes bad, but instead of turning them in, Vinson who is a born again has some interesting conversations with them about their immortal souls and where they look like they are going for eternity. Give you a hint, it ain't Heaven Bound for them

This film reminds me of the Alec Guinness film The Detective where Guinness is Father Brown who solves the crime, but also preaches to master jewel thief Peter Finch about his immortal soul. Heaven Bound does not rise to the level of a G.K. Chesterton story.

To say the comedy is forced is putting it mildly. This one won't get many showings outside church.

I watch a lot of Christian films, but this has to be one of the best I've ever seen, especially for a comedy. Torry Martin and Michael Joiner had me laughing out loud in just about every other scene. The message of redemption was conveyed effectively and naturally without it ever falling into the trap most Christian films fall into, being overly preachy to the point it makes the audience uncomfortable. Nancy Stafford was excellent, as was Danny Vinson, whose performance was both funny and thought- provoking. Victoria Jackson and Jamie Costa were both great in their supporting roles, and the production quality/camera work was pretty impressive. Definitely in the top three best faith-based films I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Job well done to all involved!

Funny movie for all ages! Whats even better is it is a clean movie. It has a wonderful story line that teaches and does it in a way that all can get it! In funny ways! I definitely recommend it!

This is such a funny, clean film. The brother really adds a hilarious element.

The film also never takes the Lord's name in vain. - so that's always a huge bonus! Keep in mind, it's not a huge budget, Hollywood film (which is why we love it!). There's not many characters, but the small cast members all are very funny.
