Avis à la une
You can't help but admire a group of people attempting to make a movie with a budget almost invisible
First, there is a story here: A cursed object called a "Mephisto Board" that is the basis for the subsequent possession and murders that followed. I expect the initial script was much shorter with an attempt to later expand the story to increase it beyond its meager beginnings. This did add several interesting scenes, but the overall action was weak.
The lineage of the Mephisto Board's evil creation was very reasonable and the action that follows is acceptable. You can tell some of the actors were dedicated and had moments where they shined.
The acting is spotty with some good moments and some not so good. Lighting and camera work is poor overall with a few rather unique and solid scenes.
This is obviously early digital material attempting to pass as film. The sound is present, but the music is not at higher quality levels to enhance the action. There again, are moments that rise to the occasion, but it is not enough to carry the film to the heights I'm sure the producers and cast hoped. The editing was spotty with sections of the action failing to advance the plot to any extent.
Overall, a lack of finality to the story with a slightly twisted ending that left the audience wanting more was a weakness. The effort was there, but low budget problems were evident.
It was a nice effort, so everyone involved should take a bow and the audience should be generous with its response.
