Finding Farideh

My daughter Farideh invited us to watch the documentary "In Search of Farideh." An artistic and experiential cinema piece. The story revolves around a girl abandoned at the Imam Reza shrine at six months old, now living in the Netherlands for forty years. After extensive research, she embarks on a historical journey to Iran to discover her true Iranian identity and find her real parents. The quest and the anticipation of blood test results lead to strange, bitter, and sweet events in families facing similar challenges. Alongside its documentary nature, the film showcases beautiful landscapes of Iran and Iranian families. Directed and produced by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee, it is presented in art and experience cinemas. I watched it in the newly established cinema within the Farhang Cinema complex.
