Hot Wives and Their Dirty Desires

One of Adam & Eve's top directors, Kay Brandt takes it way too easy with this feature, listed as drawn from her novella series of the same name. Writing is weak, and casting deficient too.

She has set up three leading ladies for something vaguely similar to the current porn crazes of hotwifing and polyamory. Mercedes Carrera is not satisfied (fully) with her relationship with young Codey Steele, and successfully brings another woman into the picture, her friend Nina Elle.

Nina has similar threesome inclinations regarding Sarah Vandella, even though married and seemingly happily so to Seth Gamble. The problem with Kay's script is obvious: there is no actual drama or conflict, merely characters acquiescing to various desires and living in a universe where jealousy or hurting somebody's feelings simply don't exist.

This rather Pollyanna-ish approach to sex stems I believe from the pornographer's typical wish to proselytize: wouldn't it be wonderful if folks engaged in all types of sex all the time, without hang-ups or that Puritan Guilt that earlier generations of pornographers (think: Hugh Hefner) railed against?

So by the time the entire cast of six (3 F, 3 M) get together for an orgy (they call it a Private Couples-Only Party) the sunny and light aspect of the XXX footage is at odds with not only current audience preferences but also all the rules of dramaturgy. It reminds me of porn's weakest genre, the bondage/fetish video, in which learning to submit supposedly makes everybody happy.

Despite the lack of edge, the 3 fine femmes are looking good and doing their sex by the numbers thing well, if without much conviction. By casting all of them as buxom MILFs, the only non-rubber-stamping being Carrera and her Latin aspect, Kay is excessively Vanilla, especially when compared to some of her earlier Lesbian Cinema triumphs like the "Cherry" and "Against Her Will" series.
