Avis à la une
There is nothing better than building your own stages for a multi-billionaire company. Yet, I feel that this interactive, mental game is what video games should be like instead of the redundant shooting npc bad guys or multiplayers for hashy people.
SMM in general is all about building radical stages for friends and strangers to attempt. Some levels are ridiculously stupid, others or unique and some are vastly really easy.
You can add almost whatever you want on whatever typer of environment. SMM gives players freedom to play a multi-billionaire company game where they can make stages for free for Nintendo.

Not as good as toontown! Where is the fun??? More like caca mario maker 2!
The troll levels mechanics are so good. We got incredible icons like Please just do better by Carl Sagan 42, thwomp suc by Bearware and ofc some other masterpieces like Wagon world. This game is full of JANK, and Nintendo should stop deleting these levels but still, they are just so fun to see. And besides the troll levels, there's also the completely normal platforming levels, and they are so fun. But yeah, I love the garbo and Little Timmy sometimes it's just that enough to give you a smile. Oh yeah, and besides that, I guess there's also the music levels, and the janky glitches. Overall, the glitchfest will never end. Nor.
Creativity Unchained
Super Mario Maker 2 isn't just a game-it's a toolkit for chaos, brilliance, and personal expression. It takes decades of Mario legacy and hands it over to the players. What happens next? Anything. This isn't about just playing levels-it's about exploring minds. Some kind, some cruel, all unforgettable.
Whether you're into clever puzzle design, old-school platforming precision, or full-on troll levels that feel like a psychological experiment, Mario Maker 2 delivers. Every session is different, and every level is a question: Can you figure it out? Can you survive it? And more importantly-do you want to?
Gameplay & Mechanics The controls are Mario at its finest-tight, responsive, and familiar. The level editor is deep but accessible, giving everyone from casual players to hardcore designers the tools to create something meaningful-or nightmarish. The online component? A non-stop flow of community insanity. No two days are ever the same.
The Legacy This is the ultimate love letter to Mario fans and chaos architects alike. It's not just a sequel-it's a platform. And what makes it thrive is the community. Players turned creators, and creators turned legends.
Special Shoutout If you're Ross O'Donovan-this one's for you.
You didn't just play the game.
You reshaped it.
You became the king of kaizo nightmares and puzzle hellscapes-and somehow made it hilarious, heartbreaking, and addictive all at once. Your levels didn't just challenge people-they defined the experience. Straight up, you pushed the platform further than anyone thought possible. Respect.
Final Word 10 out of 10.
Super Mario Maker 2 is more than a Mario game-it's a movement.
Brilliant, brutal, and endlessly replayable.
A celebration of creativity, skill, and sometimes pure evil in platformer form.
And that's exactly what makes it legendary.

I loved the first Mario Maker for the 3DS, and when I found out there was a sequel I got it almost right away, but was disappointed. The game does have more options and items to use in your levels than the original, but the animations are choppy and poor. The detail is slim, and it's missing many of the key items in mario history such as the ice power, penguin suit, invisible walls, rolling ground, etc. It's an ok game, but it definitely isn't worth the 60 bucks on the Eshop. Should have been 20 dollars at most. And then the Super Worlds idea was also a cool idea, but like I said, it became disappointing when the details and animation was poor. I'm not going to lie, though, I still had fun making and playing courses, I just think Nintendo should make an update that polishes the game and adds what it needs.

- AnecdotesThere is a multiplayer game mode called Network Play which allows the player to compete against or co-operate alongside three random players online.
- GaffesAt the beginning of story mode, the Undo Dog presses the Restart Rocket and it destroys Peach's castle and that's the whole plot of story mode. To use the Restart Rocket you have to press it for a couple of seconds, it's not instant. This means while everyone is screaming, "Oh no!", Mario could just run over and pick up the dog and it wouldn't destroy the castle.
