As odd as it may seem - a childhood favourite

This film was a childhood favourite of mine, as odd as it may seem; an old b/w Swedish film, not even a comedy, which is my preference. But I've always been fascinated by trains and I suppose that's what did it. However, in recent years, I've also come to notice that the acting and the plot are also quite good, not to mention the wonderful music, which makes this a watchable film.

Gaffes
During the winter montage, the railroad workers are seen performing their duties in broad daylight. However, by this time in the movie, they are far north of the Arctic Circle, so it would actually be night around the clock during that time of the year.
