This was a fantastic movie that provided the inspiration to explore the possibility of raising hogs for a living.
Little did I know at the time that it would be the foundation of a a twenty-six year long pursuit to raise pigs that eventually became the foundation of the healthiest pigs in the world and an example of perfection with the National Health Institute of America.
This is a FACT!
While the movie is all based on 20th Century farming techniques, the main focus was, how a young boy would prove himself in becoming a man and show his father his worthiness by caring for their family farm when his father was too sick to make that happen.
While things happen differently on a farm today, the risks and uncertainties of farming are still a very real thing. The willingness to overcome the challenges is at the heart of every farmer...even today!
This is a must see for every young future farmer that needs a feeling of hope, challenge, reward and pride.
