During Ishk Ishk Ishk, it was decided that in the Silver Jubilee year Of Navketan, in the year 1975, Dev Anand would invite his elder brother Chetan Anand to direct a film on the ocassion for the 25th year, silver jubilee year for Navketan. The film to be made was a big lavish costume drama staring Dev Anand and Hema Malini. But then it was decided that, the remake of Chetan Anand's Taxi Driver be remade as Janeman.

Excellent Entertaining Movie With Great Music

The story is about twins Santo and Banto played by Hema Malini, in a double role. Santo is the alter ego of Banto. Santo is a good religious girl who comes to Mumbai in search of her sister Banto from Punjab, after her mother expires. In the backdrop is introduced Banto who has become a criminal Madam and prostitute, called Ramkali, running a crime den from her house.

She hires the taxi of Ronnie alias Dev Anand, to search for her sister's house. How Ronnie and Santo succeed in their mission is rest of the story. The film is very interesting and have some lovely songs by melody queen Lata Mangeshkar. Hema Malini does A Great Job In Double Role And Dev Anand does his part in a nice way.
