Ce soir les jupons volent...

Dimitri Kirsanoff's reputation stems from his silent movis such as "Ménilmontant" ;some of her talkies of the thirties ("rapt" "quartier sans soleil" ar not devoid of qualities.

But the fifties were mediocre :"le temoin de minuit" and "le craneur" were poor film noir, and "ce soir ,les jupons volent" is trite French comedy , not really funny , even though a comical actress (Sophie Desmarets is at hand)

It's about a fashion designer ,his son trying to date a mannequin for the Réveillon de Noel ,and five of his models , and their love affairs ;for the first time ,it was filmed in dyaliscope -a wide screen process-, pearls before swine indeed .

It looks like a film made up of sketches ,but none is original enough to sustain the interest over the whole eve of Xmas time ; the "I wanna be loved for myself ,not for my wealth " subject, notably , is thread-bare.
