    Great game

Christopher Plummer does a fine job as general Chang in this aircraft based game. The game is played from the Federation's arch nemeses, the Klingons. The gameplay was pretty decent, albeit flawed and sterile at times, but I lived for those cutscenes with old mate Christopher Plummer. He delivers Shakespearean poetry amidst various space skirmishes and this propels the story along. Admittedly, the story could have been fleshed out a bit better - the cutscenes largely revolve around Chang in a space ship and seldom leaves this space. Never the less, this is a memorable game and the cutscenes are worth revisiting.

Good idea, shame about the controls

Graphically, a good game. Damage on ships appears very well. It sounds like a star Trek film.

    The storyline is good.

    It has great atmosphere...

The problems begin with the controls...

This is a simulator, not an arcade game.

    The controls are completely impossible...

On the Enterprise there are specialists who run the weapons, shields, engines, security and sensors... That is what they are for.

In this game it seems that all of these Jobs are down to the gamer. It is simply impossible to do. Unless you have more than two arms...

This isn't helped by the fact that the missions get extremely difficult very quickly... I wouldn't mind that if I could actually control the wretched ship or more actually rely upon some help from my crew while I am captain rather than have to do all the jobs for my entire bridge crew.

This game also explains how the Kligon empire, the lion of the universe was made into a kitten and chew toy of the federation. That is a wholly unsatisfying storyline... The Star Trek universe without its greatest bad guys is pathetic... the borg give me a break, they are boring, the Star Trek universe needs some outrageous bad guys to bring it back to its best, and the klingons with their individuality and warlike nature were the only ones for the job. Everyone else is simply anaemic.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, no peace in our time....

If you saw Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; if you are a gamer, or a science fiction fan; then you should definitely check out Klingon Academy, an IBM-compatible computer space simulation game being released now by Interplay. The game features ninety dramatic minutes of stunning, full motion video, as veteran actor Christopher Plummer reprises his over-the-top role as the Shakespeare-quoting General Chang. Actor David Warner returns to his role as the level-headed Chancellor Gorkon, and you will finally learn how Chang lost the sight in one eye, how Gorkon came to power, and the events which culminate in Chang's eventual betrayal of Gorkon and his subsequent efforts to thrust the galaxy into total war as featured in the aforementioned movie. The soundtrack is engrossing, and the video helps draw the player into his role as a young Klingon warrior, under the tutelage of Chang at the Elite Command Academy which is part of the game. There is a handy utility which allows you to watch the movies in sequence without playing the missions through. Eventually, you will have to choose between your duty to the Empire and your loyalty to Chang. I thoroughly enjoyed the movies and the game. As the Klingons like to say in greeting, Qa'pla!

Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war...

Klingon Academy is by far my favorite and if not the best Star Trek game ever made.

You play a young cadet who has been accepted into the Klingon Academy in the hopes that one day you will find honor in defending the empire as a member of the Imperial Klingon Defense force.

In the game you are given your simulator mission's from General Chang (played by Christopher Plummer) not only that you have the chance to talk to the great General himself, and are even selected to go on secret "Real Missions" for him.

The game also features Michael Dorn as Commander Thok Mak although he was originally supposed to be playing Colonel Worf (his character from Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country) but I guess the producers and makers of the game thought it best that James T Kirk and Dr Leonard McCoy's lawyer/council while they where on trial not be your Instructor so they made Thok Mak, Colonel Worf's brother, also David Warner stars as Gorkon who is up for the place of Chancellor of the Klingon Empire.

The Graphics are amazing even now, I still love to play this game.

To actually be able to blow holes in ships and fire torpedoes that go straight through the hull that look almost movie like quality.

It's a fun game, I just wish they would bring out another Academy Title likes this one and the Starfleet Academy (which is also a great game IMO)

Ravaging the cosmos in my B'rel Starship! Qapla!

This has got to be one of the most interactive and enjoyable games I have ever played, and after 20 years worth of games, there are lots! Not only does Klingon Academy compliment Star Trek 6 by 1. Giving us a back story, 2. Explains to us in the very end the what the undiscovered country was, and 3. We learn alot about how the Klingons got to the point they were at in Star Trek 6, by needing to forge an alliance with the Federation. The interface is very unique and although seems like it could be hard to grasp is incredibly easy. The graphics are highly crafted and the gameplay is superb. This is an instant must have for all Trek fans, and for all Klingons! This game is an instant classic. It has a multi-player feature as well as a battle simulator if you want to take on the Enterprise or any other Federation foe. Congrats to the makers of Klingon Academy for a job well done! Q'apla!
