Of course Brian DePalma is the all-time ripoff king when it comes to stealing from Hitchcock movies, but this clunker written by Cash Markman and Chad Randoph is even more egregious.
Right from the first shot of unappealing leading man jason Brooks (he looks like Jack Nicholson wearing Tom Selleck's mustache) with leg in a cast looking through binoculars the apartment building across from his window, we know a stupid "Rear Window" imitation is happening. He plays a traffic court judge who is feuding with a fellow judge who lives across the way. With the aid of his pal Steve Drake, playing the chief of police, he's out to get evidence of crime or philandering to use to blackmail the other judge (Jeff Scott) into not embarrassing him at work.
The whole "Rear Window" distant photography of pantomime action seen through the other building's windows is very poorly handled here, as director Damon Christian goes for standard sex close-ups during all the sex scenes taking place there, rather than what our voyeur Brooks can see. The story is very stupid, merely an excuse for endless in-jokes (character names are taken from Hitch movies' cast & character names) and a dumb "twist" ending.
Tracey Adams leads the femme cast as Brooks' wife.
