Black Love

Herschell Gordon Lewis denied that he ever made a porn flick and Black Love is the one we are talking about. It was supposed to be lost but it's been found and Lewis can't deny it that he ever made a porn. It's made in the middle of the heydays of porn. be warned, it doesn't contain any professional actors and it was stated that it was a documentary about black love, love made by black people.

From shot one you will have an erected black cock being adored by a girl so immediately you know what to expect from this flick. It's been narrated all through the flick but it surely doesn't feel like a documentary. It do has a weird look just at the beginning again. Some black people making love in a car on a playground. A youngster goes watching what they are doing. Just listen and watch.

It do contain a lot of explicit shots and intercourse is shown what clearly makes it a porn but it's still on low standards for the time it's been made. What do makes it a bit of a sick flick is the fact that underaged teens are looking to the acts. Of course it was edited just like they were watching but it do gives it a weird feeling. But can somebody tell us viewers what the difference is between black and white love because it do look the same, LOL.

The way it was shot is again excellent and the use of 'pussy light' was perfectly done. On that part some porn flicks can take an example, even the close ups were sharp as hell.

The most annoying thing was the score and the dancing part, the score has been looped and after a while it really get on your nerves and of course the silly narrating although you get attracted to it cause the stupidity and even on the way black people's live is explained on the edge or racism. But it shows that a lot of directors had made a porn or sexploitation before they became a big name. Only for the hardcore (no pun intended) lovers of Lewis.

Black Love (1971)

For decades director Herschell Gordon Lewis denied making a hardcore porn film and after viewing BLACK LOVE it's easy to see why. I don't think he denied it because it's hardcore but because of how bad the thing actually is. This here is presented as a "science project" or a "documentary" to explain why and how black people have sex. Really? Joseph L. Turner narrates this documentary as he pretty much just explains everything that we can see with our eyes. There are various sexual encounters including a couple very weird ones where we learn most black kids learn about sex by walking in on their parents or while playing in the park they see couples having sex in cars. BLACK LOVE would probably be a cult favorite like REEFER MADNESS due to how stupid it is but the porn aspect is going to keep many people away so it will probably never become as famous. There's just no getting around the fact that this here is an incredibly bad movie from start to finish. The only thing one really learns is that this film knows nothing about "black love" because all of the stories told here could have been about white people or any other race. The dialogue is just downright awful and the narration says some of the dumbest things you're ever going to hear from a film like this. I'm not sure who actually went to see this thing when it was released but lets hope they didn't take it too serious. The film also contains some downright horrid cinematography and lets not even get started on the music score. This here is certainly only going to be recommended to fans of Lewis who must see everything the man did. I'm sure if you asked him the director would gladly tell you just to skip over this one.
