I quite enjoyed this show when I was little. I don't know any little kid that didn't like it. I suppose this is whole show is the reason why I started reading at about 2 or 3 years old. Boot, Pretty, Granny, The Explorer, The Thing, Mr Bones made it all really easy to learn.

I learned a lot from this educational show, but I also paid a price for that knowledge. If you think the sight of shoes talking, rows of detached houses talking and a skeleton named Boneapart singing and dancing (and talking) is harmless, you obviously never saw this show at a young, impressionable age. This, along with those old Parkay margarine ads where the margarine tub says "you know!", is what made me extremely paranoid of supposed inanimate objects today. Thanks a lot, TVOntario.

Just the sound of the opening song makes me happy. It reminds me of my childhood. I really wish I could see this show again. This show really taught my how to read!

The main characters were, a boot and his girlfriend a fancy pink shoe, grandmother and an explorer (all puppets) Although it sounds weird the concept actually worked and I think the show ran for many seasons.

Many people have differing opinions about Readalong and here's my opinion.

I thought that this was a really fun show. Puppets are the reason why this show was so successful. For some reason I could relate a lot to puppets. Boot, Pretty, Granny, The Explorer and The Thing all made this show fun and really kept my interest. It's a shame really that shows like this aren't really recognized for their creative aspects. Noreen Young and Bob Dremer doing the puppeteer work and the kids were acting right along side them.

Readalong is the best work that TVOntario ever did from my experience.
