Commentaire à la une
This one hour short musical with excellent music by Michel Fugain is an historical document on the early 70s. Located in Paris, a dreamy long-haired singer (Michel Fugain) is reflecting about being popular and politically correct at the same time. He decides to live someplace else to find the real truth and sense in life, meanwhile driving though Paris in a beach buggy having arguments with the police. He has a fight with his girlfriend, played by the fabulous German singer Mary Roos in hot pants and girdle, who did her fist big screen performance here. Still reflecting Michel gets into contact with a "clochard" who want to bomb the town and finally lands in a cellar full of opium smokers. The story does not really lead anywhere and therefore the film represents this very special 70s flair in the style of "Hair". So in one way it is a piece of pure Pop-Trash in another a good musical with the top sound of that time and still it is a confusing Paris road-movie, which leaves a skeptical smile on the viewers face. Films like that are definitely not made anymore, and after you have seen "Enfant Dans la ville" you will know why.
