Accurate depiction of human tragedies caused by war

The the title of this movie actually is Qing Tian Han Hai, instead of Qing Tian Hen Hai, and the literal translation of the title is: Clean sky and vast ocean.

This movie is an accurate depiction of the human tragedies in the contemporary Chinese history caused by wars, and although the story itself might be a fictitious, events identical the one described in the movie actually happened frequently in real life as the result of the regime change. The story, however, did not tell the complete story due to political reasons, as well as the governmental censorship, and one of topic it ignored was the persecution of the relatives of those who fled to Taiwan.
