    Forever? Not likely...

What cheap-cheap Feature Length Animated Film for girls would be complete without lots of pink, some hot boys, an Alpha Bitch getting her comeuppance, a talking cat and a message on The Power Of Friendship? And don't forget that not ALL witches are wart ridden old hags... At least the younger generation aren't. The green skin and spots only seem to arrive when they're older. Something for Sabrina & Co to look forward to.

Basically, an average TV movie from an average TV series. You want more? Okay... Shall I compare ye to a fast food meal. Twas will fill ye up, but hath no nutritional value at all. I don't think that the great bard was thinking of this when he penned those immortal words, but they're accurate nonetheless.

In the meantime, there's a whole host of other, tastier dishes to partake of in the genre. Mostly by gourmet chefs calling themselves 'Pixar' and 'Disney' These tantilising culinary treats will both satisfy AND edify. My advice is: Go for one of them. Bon Appetite. 5/10

    OK movie.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Friends Forever is an ok movie except for the voices. I like this movie & it is a cute movie. The problems have to do with the voices. First of all, the new voice for Salem (Louis Chirillo) doesn't have the same feeling that Nick Bakay bought to Salem & the new voice of Salem is kind of annoying. The new voice of Sabrina (Britt McKillip) is ok but Emily Hart pulls off a better Sabrina voice. Where's Uncle Quigley? They should have put Uncle Quigley in this movie as a cameo. They have Uncle Eustace (voice by Jay Brazeau. He also did the voice of Uncle Quigley on Sabrina, The Animated Series). Enchantra looks older in this movie (Enchantra look really young in Sabrina, The Animated Series). The new voices of Hilda & Zelda sound strange (Melissa Joan Hart does a better impression of Hilda & Zelda on Sabrina, The Animated Series).

This movie is ok & it does have a great amount of humor except for the fact that the new voices sound kind of out of place in this movie. DIC should have gotten Emily Hart, Nick Bakay & Melissa Joan Hart to voice the characters that they did in Sabrina, The Animated Series.

    An atrocious "film"

First let me say that the producers of this film must have had an incredibly low budget. I was never fond of the original sabrina (animated) series anyway, but this is pure tripe.

The voice of Sabrina (I admit, Emily Hart did not do a great job as a voice actress, but her voice was well-suited to the character.) Is now voiced by what sounds like an air-headed preteen girl. This particular voice gets very old, very fast.

The only real reason I ever watched the animated series was for Salem, the cat (Nick Bakay) - but he's not in this one. Instead, another unknown, not to mention annoying voice-actor is voicing him. The animation, also, is damn near atrocious, looking incredibly 2d and flat.

Anyway, onto the storyline. The idea is, on sabrina's 13th birthday she receives a message from a big-wig in the witches' realm, and is asked to attend a witches school - which happens to be a large castle.

    (Sound familiar, anyone?)

Anyway, she is a half-witch. And everyone else is a witch! Oh no! (Yet somehow she still manages to perform pretty advanced magic - conjuring fish, removing spots from her body)

But she cannot fly. And neither can her friend Nicole - another half witch - who doesn't have such excuses as "I just washed my hair and I can't do anything with it." That Sabrina seems to be filled with, and seem so convincing to her "friends." - Therefore everybody makes a mockery of Nicole. Somehow, though, Sabrina manages to disguise her being a half-witch (though, she has exactly the same 'symptoms' as Nicole.)

This is a blatant rip of Harry Potter, and I expect Disney or whoever made this film will be sued very soon. This is only really to be viewed by preteens, or "ppl hu spel lik dis"

    0.1/10 - DON'T WATCH IT.

This movie's great but has some bad parts too.

This movie is the most funniest, but there are plenty of wrong sides about it. I mean, where did thay get the Witch's Realm. Why couldn't they just name it the Netherworld instead. And what about Sabrina's voice? I think Emily Hart would sound better if she was the voice for Sabrina. And then, the witchcraft things get weirder. Why couldn't Sabrina fly? In the series, she could just fly better. And Hilda and Zelda, I think they've changed a lot since the series. And where is Quigley, isn't he supposed to be at least in the beginning of the movie?

    Average but Charming

I'll try to keep this spoiler free, but I don't know why I'm concerned about spoiling a 22 year old movie nobody cares about.

I never really had an interest in the Sabrina The Teenage Witch comics or sitcom, but I had DVDs of this, Sabrina, The Animated Series, and Sabrina's Secret Life. I watched all like it was my life support. I still really love Sabrina, The Animated Series and Sabrina: Friends Forever! (I don't like Sabrina's Secret Life anymore, but that's another review for another day) but, just like a chicken sandwich without cheese, they all have flaws.

For starters, it changes quite a bit about the original series. As stated in the movie itself, Sabrina is 13 instead of 12. Sabrina's friend Chloe, her rival Gem Stone, and her uncle Quigley are absent. The formers make sense, as they are probably at home and as mortals have no reason to be at a witch academy or a witch's birthday party, but Quigley isn't at Sabrina's birthday party in the beginning. This is apparently because Chloe moved away, Gem's in boarding school and Uncle Quigley somehow inherited an entire castle in Ireland. Now for the second change, which is even more bizarre.

Salem the cat not only got a different voice actor, Louis Chirillo, but had an entire design change as well. He's still a black cat, but wears a blue collar instead of golden/yellow and has an amulet attached to it. Due to his voice change his voice actor gives him a more high pitched voice compared to his deep voice before. This makes him sound more flamboyant and sassy compared to the egotistical sarcasm he usually has. No offense though, I think he's cute and he has charm, but it doesn't really feel like Salem. He's more like Salem's little cousin.

Now, for the actual movie itself. It's like one of those Disney Channel originals if they were animated. It apparently premiered on Nickelodeon in the states, but it feels more sick-day-home-from-school/I-slept-too-long-and-missed-school-so-I'm-gonna-stay-in-bed-and-watch-TV Disney Channel, stuff like The Princess Diaries or Starstruck. Like the title of my review says, it's a pretty average movie from a critical standpoint, as for a movie to show to children it ages fairly well. The animation is well done.

However, it intrigues me that the movie is called "Friends Forever" and we never see Nicole again. That friendship sure didn't last long.
