Avis à la une
The only two names you will recognize in the cast of Hollywood Flies are Casper
Van Dien as a rich club owner who is now confined to a wheelchair because of a
car wreck he caused while driving intoxicated and Brad Renfro as a sad sack bank
robber. I guess they were there for a little bit of box office insurance, but these
two both saw better film projects.
Van Dien's main squeeze Caprice Bourret has given him the air, but Casper is a spoiled rich guy who doesn't take no for an answer. He sics a private detective.
At the same time Anthony Cupo meets up with his sister Bianca Guerrero just over from Italy and they pick up two hitchhikers Vinnie Jones and Renfro. Big mistake this two did a bank robbery where one guy was killed and they've stashed the loot in a bus station locker. They hold Guerrero and want Cupo to go to Los Angeles and get their money.
Cupo and Bourret hook up under some odd circumstances and now everyone would like to get that loot.
The story is pretty lame with a lot of holes in it. But some real acting is done by Jones and Renfro who met each other in the joint. When Renfro says Jones helped him make it through prison you know exactly what Jones got from him in return. Jones is one dangerous dude.
Still Jones and Renfro are not enough to make up for the rest of the film.

Not the worst movie (Gerry) I've ever seen... if you've got an hour and a half or so to burn late at night then go for it.
Vinnie Jones owns this movie. His character was the only one with any real fire. Without him this would have been a total sleeper.
Brad Renfro was weak. I mean his character was weak, but I don't think it should have been that weak. Maybe this was due to the director...
I thought the script and the story was weak. The scenery was good. I'm big on scenery. Would have been better (from a guy's perspective) with a bit of brief nudity. I mean I think in the context of this film it was expected so it left the feeling that something was missing. Not a big thing really but this film wasn't a big thing either.
I thought Bianca Guaccero was good. She was/is not only quite beautiful but she did a very good job with what she had to work with.
I wasn't impressed by Caprice Bournet at all. She is pretty and I guess they needed another pretty face. But they could of put just about anyone else in place of her without any problem.
I agree with a previous poster. This movie started out with promise, then just kinda fell flat.
Late at night if you can't sleep or if you got nothing better to do and there's nothing else on this would be a better bet than something like Kinky Kong or some lame, soft snore Sinemax garbage.
But that doesn't say much does it?

(2004) Hollywood Flies
THRILLER CRIME DRAMA
Co-written and directed by Fabio Segatori, directing a stupid, low budget flick centering on a misplaced bag of money, and the two goons of Sean (Vinnie Jones) and Jamie (Brad Renfro) who're trying to retrieve it. And at the same time, some young drug lord, Zach (Casper Van Dien) is paying someone to get this girl back by sending someone to kill Cherie (Caprice Bourret) for leaving him! Acting is bad, the set up is bad- it's like watching a very, very low budget inspired version of "Pulp Fiction". The actual Hollywood files is more like Hollywood junk.

An odd group of people start out in las vegas, on various missions. A brother and sister cross paths with two killers on the run. The guy in the wheelchair (casper van dien) has hired a detective to track down his girlfriend (bouuret), who has fled to los angeles. Strange story lines... we watch the killers dance with their hostage for a while, before they start fighting over her... and... the film grinds to a halt about halfway through. Things pick up again near the end, as some of the group re-unites in LA. Great desert locations... the dunes, the salt flats, the windmill farms, which appear to be in palm springs. The photography and the wacky characters are all more interesting than the story. Even the foreign accents come and go. Directed by fabio segatori. There seems to be a whole team of writers, and maybe that's why the story is a bit disjointed. So many coincidences going on. It works if you just go with it.
While too many writers credited, this script was well plotted. The suspense and intrigue left each scene with more riveting questions. That Bianca Guaccero is just the female role for today. A young Claudia Cardinale with no inklings of annexure, an actress not afraid to perspire and a face to cut apple pie. The director knows pacing for the movie was edited with straight cuts, camera steady that moved with just the right light and tempo. The group will be something to look forward to, either together again or individually. Caprice Bouret is another Usurla Andress with warmth where Ursula has fatality in her eyes. We loved everybody but the bad guys.
