This tries really hard to push beyond its formulaic structure.

Savage regular Helen Hopkins plays a woman whose lovers are being murdered by a disgruntled ex. Susanne Hausschmid plays one of her ex's.

A lesbian scene between Hopkins and Hausschmid is right off the meter for eroticism and is the film's highlight. Not bad, either, a tennis game between two women that becomes sexual foreplay before it moves to a jacuzzi.

DOP David Richardson, who shot SNAK, turns in some very nice visuals and the ocean locales are welcome.

Ultimately, though, the formula compromises the end result.

The filmmaker is much better than this sub-par material.
